    Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)

He is ok and can advance in the game.

The purple stuff that cures poison is easily farmed in the forest by killing trees. Also the guys who shoot the darts drop them after death.

I got my strength to 26 and am using the Dark Knight sword almost all the time now. It is a little slow, but using the Right button is fast and also super powerful.

Finally got an NPC to help me in the depths..anyone know why it took me so long to summon one? Does that even make sense? I was in human form..saw the signs to summon..summoned..it said summoning failed over and over. Finally a guy popped up.

Isn't an NPC a computer controlled player? Or is it actually a real player? I dont get it.

      Re: Dark Souls (PS3/360)

I am moving at a slower pace than you guys. I could use some feedback:

I started with a pyromancer and upped his strength to about 20 at level 17. I am using a +2 Claymore which deals 120 damage and can be used with the shield. However, I am slow on the swing...AND....slow on casting the fireball spell...he's a pyromancer, why is he so slow with fire?

Is there anyway to up my speed?

Also at the Gargoyle boss I drop a summon sign but no one comes. Any way to increase my chances of someone coming?

      Thank you.

There are spots where NPC summons kick in...like the gargoyles and in the depths.

I don't think anything she sells is truly unique, but she does sell some useful stuff. I would just use one of the cheese soul farming spots, just resist the temptation to use souls to gain levels.

I think he's saying how can the game fail to summon an NPC like that. I noticed that it took a long time to summon the guy myself at the gargoyle fight (though it didn't fail), so I'm really not sure why it does that. Maybe you have to stay perfectly still, so you can summon in the middle of a fight? Or enemies have to stay a distance away from the summon or it fails?

Yes exactly. I could not figure it out.

It just kept saying "summoning failed" and I didn't get it. It's not like I dropped a marker for outside help. The markers were there for me since I was human.

Is that why I cant invade worlds either? Are you not able to move? Also where can I get more red orbs?

I can move and it shows a hologram of the guy, but he wasn't showing up.

Then I dropped a marker and waited for 15 minutes..nothing.

I am not even sure how I ended up summoning the guy, but if you want to beat the depths, cut of the tail of the dragon and get a sick axe..it sure helps to have the NPC.

I just read that players need to be within 10% of my level and in the area. Which is hard cause im in the 60's

Yeah but I am talking about NPCs...I thought these were AI assist characters..not real people on Xbox Live.

You need more Dexterity to up your move and roll speed

I don't get why they made it so you have to be human to invade someone. What's the point now?

I'm almost never in human form so I haven't even been able to invade yet. I help out somewhat often, but it usually takes 5-10 minutes to get summoned by someone for me, so it's kind of annoying. Of course that could be because I'm in the Gravelord covenant currently, or just because I am playing this one on 360.

The boss fight I'm currently on, I have been summoned 4 times because it's really hard to do solo. Still haven't beaten them even as a phantom, but most of the time it's the summoner that dies and not me. So I'm confident that if I can get some darn humanity, I might be able to summon a decent player and finally get past this fight seeing as I can get farther by myself than the people I'm helping can with help.

Have fun when you guys get to this fight.
