When I saw the thread title I was thinking there will going to use them as an advertisement for the game(s). But, as a stand alone movie? That's nuts. I don't know anyone that nerdy.
Haha all I meant was they are acting as if many cutscenes integrated into a full-length feature film is like some revolutionary concept, but animated movies have been around for fifteen years now.
I suppose if people like it, hey. But I don't understand the extra charge for it, I think that's what I was getting at more than anything else.
They are becoming a ******** bunch. That's the only logical reasoning I can give.
The problem is that there was a concept (if I'm not mistaken) where movies would becoming an interactive thing. However it fell short on its behind. Maybe I'm dreaming about it but somehow I doubt it. I don't deny that they want to make money off of a concept like this. It just baffles me that they would think their movies would bring about a following that would trump the movie industry. Would make sense for them to create movies that could only be released on the different gaming networks. Maybe even create different parts seeing that so many of those games aren't simple 2-3 hour movies. The greed is clouding the sanity and sense of the industry.......Comment

The thing where people in the theatre would push a button on a remote connected to their seat to vote on what would happen in the movie? I think that lasted all of 2 weeks.Comment

Re: Bobby Kotick wants to put cutscenes in movie theatres...
I wouldn't pay that much to see that. I probably wouldn't even if it was a movie price. If I ever catch up on a game, it's through an online game guide. If those get taken away, then I guess I'm not catching up lol. In my experience though, game stories aren't good enough to usually to see just for the story. There are the top games that have exceptions. But to take Activision for example, I wouldn't pay for a Call of Duty story mode, and I don't think many others would either.BA BA BA BA

yep because movies are nothing but cut scenes...
cut scenes do nothing more than give you a context in which to mash buttons. there is nothing theatrical about 90% of video game story lines.
having said that, if they think they can make a quick buck this way, by all means, have at it.Comment

Re: Bobby Kotick wants to put cutscenes in movie theatres...
Anybody who pays $20 or $30 to see cutscenes of a video game need to be dropped again on thier head like they were when they were a baby.
Like someone said no one can be that nerdy but then again like PT Barnum said "There's a sucker born every minute". When DLC came out for games I used to think the same thing that there can't be that many suckers who would pay extra for DLC that should be included in the game in the first place. Boy was I wrong.Comment
