Discovered I did indeed get a bad disc, as my replacement I exchanged for today has worked flawlessly. I plan on contacting Nintendo prior to completing my review to ask if this is a potential problem.
Awesome game now that Ive had time to spend with it, and this is from someone who really didnt care for the original much at all.Comment

I agree this game is INSANE. Graphics are great, and the sensation of speed is like no other.
One of the best games of the year so far. IMO.
