Just got back into gaming last fall after almost a 10 year hiatus. I don’t have much time to play games so I have been really picky about what I get. Saving $10 on a preowned game and having to wait 4 months just isn’t worth it to me. Especially since I don’t have a crazy game habit. Having said that, if I ever got the urge to play Little Big Planet or MGS4 I would probably just buy it used.

• Valkyria Chronicles (new - $20 at Gamestop)
• Final Fantasy 13 (new – my girlfriend persuaded me to buy)
• Red Dead Redemption (new – purchased from Buy.com for $50 w/shipping)
• Last purchase of year (Gran Turismo 5 – new)

Most of the games I buy are new, and I use gamefly for games I am not sure about buying.

So far this year I bought (or received as a gift)

NCAA 10 (basketball)
Bioshock 2
GTA Episodes
RDR
Modnation Racers
NCAA 11

And I pre-ordered Fallout New Vegas.

I buy new for must have releases which usually includues NCAA Football and a baseball game. It just depends on how much I want a game. If I really want it I buy it new. If I'm on the fence I'll wait for a sale or just buy used later on.
