Re: Minecraft
I'll send you a friend request a bit later.
I keep switching from peaceful to easy. When I'm strictly building, I put it on peaceful, but if I'm exploring or mining, it's on easy. I've built a nice big house, but I'm thinking of moving onto a better area with more land. But we'll see. I have to explore the caves I found, hoping to find some diamonds, but no luck so far. Found a few gold ores but nothing else..
All that obsidian, and I can't mine it because I don't have a diamond pickaxe. Made me sad once I realized it (After hammering away at it with everything I had (mostly stone and wood tools) for about 3-4 hours)

Re: Minecraft
Win right there.
Anyway, found a lot of Redstone, Diamonds, and Gold Ore last night. Was pretty excited. Only one problem. I have no clue where my house isI dug so deep and went so far away from my home, I have no clue which direction it's in. I literally walked around every for 2 hours trying to find my house, now luck. I tried to make a map, but I have no clue how to make paper. So I made a compass, but that didn't help one bit.
Although, I found some really nice places to build a new house though.Xbox LIVE GT: oALEXtheGREATo

What I usually do to find my way back is put down a bunch of torches in one area AND leave a sign there so I can get back. I'll generally go up to a high place at night and find the light source and the sign will tell me where I'm at.Comment

You don't have the map you started out with?

Re: Minecraft
I tried it a few years ago on a desktop, but it's too addicting and my hands would hurt because my setup is the opposite of ergonomic.
So I got this the day it came out, and was pleasantly surprised it has MORE to it than when I initially played, like powered cars and I don't think dogs existed either. So to me it's not 'dumbed down' because I haven't experienced anything since.
The game is too addicting though, I was getting tired and forgot to save and lost 3 hours of playing!!!! I built a log cabin... gone ... so I started a new world and built a HUGE log cabin and that's my main pad.
I kind of like the old world better though... anyway, when I play again I'd like to give myself some sort of main goal, like building a huge bridge across to another land mass or just doing something where I can work towards something at my own pace. Online there are how to's about moster harvesters but I'm not interested in that and think it would kill my interest in the game.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: Minecraft
I had a day off work last year and spent literally the entire day playing. I followed an idea I read from PCGamer which was you only had one life and if you died you had to delete your save and start a new game. Made it much more intense when in danger or during night time.
I bought the game, played dozens and dozens of hours of the beta but still have not played the 'finished' version of the game. I realize the game is never really done. May have to revisit when my holiday comes up!Comment

Re: Minecraft
Love playing it on there with my cousin, can't wait for the adventure update when that comes. Also I know they have a couple things they have to fix like clay showing up more. Can't wait for it all! Still very fun at the moment anyway.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: Minecraft
Was a quiet and rainy day at the lake so I played some Minecraft after seeing what this mod made the game look like:

Haven't got these one working but added a bunch of texture packs. Game looks damn good.Comment

Re: Minecraft
Same here. I've always got something else to play, and tell myself I don't have the time to dive in and learn everything there is to know about the game.
Someday I'll break down. Maybe after I build a new PC, as my current one doesn't have the power to handle some of the texture packs.Comment

Re: Minecraft
Iplay this game all the time with friends on Xbox, and sometimes on my laptop.
I recently deleted my old map (cobblestone castle) and started a new world with my little brother on his Xbox across the hall. (I'm 15, he's 13....THIS IS HOW WE BOND, OKAY?!)
Anyway, we started with our maps and explored the WHOLE world to get our maps filled in, and then we found some nice flat ground to start our houses. I found a lot of clay along the way, so I knew the first thing I had to do was build a large brick house. I finished it today, and it looks really modern (my favorite type of house to build) with all the cool windows and stuff. I even have a cool little balcony.Seattle Mariners|Seattle Seahawks
