    Re: PS3 Backwards compatible

I've never understood the big deal with backwards compatibility. I can't remember playing any of my old PSX games once I got a PS2. I guess I you didn't have a ps2 you could go back to games you missed.

Is the PS3 still going to have the dual shock controller?

Hmm ... I must be in the minority, then. I played the hell out of Colin McRae Rally 2.0 and International Superstar Soccer Pro Evolution -- both PSX games -- in the early days of my PS2.

I don't think backward compatibility for PSX games on the PS3 means jack. But the ability to play PS2 games will be big in the console's early days, before the game library grows.

            Take care,

                  Re: PS3 Backwards compatible

One thing to remember, most of us here have a gaming problem. We buy more games than we should. However, the average person can only afford to buy a game or 2 a year, so being able to play older games on their new console is great for them.

1 - they can play their old library of games.

2 - they can pick up used games for the older system and play it on their new console.
