Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I have put over 35 hours into the game and haven't gone to see the greybeards yet. So much to do. I have like 25 quests or more just in my miscellaneous quest log.
Awesome, awesome game. Killed my first giant when I was about lievel 15 I think, took about 2 to 3 minutes to kill that big bastard.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
DEFINITELY.
The first time saw a pack of bandits trying to take down two other travelers in the distance, I thought for sure I was supposed to get involved. But it didn't seem right when I looked closer as I wasn't even close to this fight.
I sat back and watched as they went to town on each other, bashing away. I lobbed arrows and kept hidden until only one bandit remained. I just scooped in and took him down quickly gaining some mighty loot from a fight that I didn't even take a blow from.
Very nice!

I have 75+ hours in and haven't gone to see the greybeards yet. I've started to head that direction a couple times but got sidetracked and found something else to do. Going to try again tonight.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
One more for the weird **** you see while roaming about in Skyrim.
I'm up in the mountains, making my way to some remote ruins and I see a group of people ahead. They were just standing around so I proceed to see who they were, I get within distance to see it was 6 people when 5 of them flopped over dead and the fifth draws a weapon, then a 7th off to one side starts pelting me with arrows. No big deal, I freeze mr "I'm going to make a fatal mistake and draw my weapon against the Dovahkiin" with but a word and separate ms arrow shooter from her head, then disembowel the partially thawed mess and take stock of the situation. So here is what we have, 2 fully armored Stormcloaks, a fully armored Imperial, a nude Stormcloak, a nude Imperial, a bandit and a scavenger. What kind of freaky stuff they have going on out here in the middle of a frozen nowhere?Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Anyone else have Belethor of the Whiterun general goods store just randomly die? I kept waiting around for him to open his shop for a couple of days and it would never open. Happened to visit the Hall of the Dead there and saw his coffin, which can be looted. I have no idea how or why he died. I didn't do it. Even though the guy was a jerk sometimes, he was convenient to trade with. The whole thing is weird.MLB: Cincinnati Reds

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Lydia ate a nice x30 backstab earlier when she walked in front of me sneaking up on a bear. She was carrying 6 dragon bones and plates so I just reloaded my save because there was no way I was leaving those lying around.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
I beat the main story and wanted to test out the new shouts on some giants so I went to the giant camp at whiterun and a dragon shows up. I thought that this was perfect since I could, so I did that but for some reason it didn't attack the dragon and started to attack me. I didn't notice that I was getting too close to the giants and all of a sudden, I started to get attacked by them and the dragon at the same time. ISpoilersummon a dragonand all he did was get launched in the air by the giants. Lydia tried to fight to the giants and got launched in air as well. Needless to say, I started running as fast as I could, hoping that the giants would start attacking the dragon, which didn't happen. My next brilliant plan was to run back to whiterun and hope that the guards could do at least a little damage to the giants and/or the dragon. Instead of running towards whiterun, I ended up at a farm where another giant was hanging out for some reason and started getting chased by that one too.Spoilercalled in one of the Nords from Sovngarde
So I see a structure in the distance and I assumed it was whiterun and I was happy since I wasn't going to have to fight all this stuff alone but it turned out to be a fort that I hadn't seen before that was filled with bandits. As soon as I got into the fort, I got attacked by about 10 bandits, then the dragon and three giants walked in. The dragon got destroyed by the giants but managed to take some of the health down on two of them, the archers got destroyed by the dragon but also got some hits on the same two giants, and I was chased by giant who seemed to want to only kill me. In the end, I killed that one giant by basically circle strafing and conjuring atronarchs, the two giants killed the dragon, and the bandits killed the other two giants. I was about to reload the save since I didn't want Lydia to be dead but she had fallen out of orbit and met up with me in the fort. If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
This guy took all the in game books and made them into an ebook so we can read them on our android, iPhone, nook, etc. Great way to get your skyrim fix while you're at work or wherever.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
For me it doesn't, though. It sucks.
Having a guy hacking at you from behind, trying to swivel around slowly, as opposed to being able to swing around.
Trying to aim a damn bow while someone's moving, and having to keep steady.
The mouse is superior in every way in FP games.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
well this is just great.
I picked this up today as part of G-Stops B2G1 free used game sale and brought it home with the intent of just doing the install and then watching my football game.
three and half hours later, I am still in Tamriel.
Thanks Besthesda.
Sorry NFL.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Of course the WASD + mouse control for FPS's will always be the superior option, but the 360 controller is adequate and I'll sacrifice mouse control for a 50 inch TV and a comfortable sofa and day of the week. For me it doesn't, though. It sucks.
