Either get the speech perk that allows you to do it, or the easiest way would be to join the thieves guild.
Wow, that's stoopid. I dual wield and didn't run into that. I musta just equipped it by itself since it wasn't part of my normal loadout. Glad you figured it out though.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
You need a "fence" to sell stolen items too. A person who will buy stolen goods. I know you get access to a handful while doing the thieves guild quests.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
This game is dangerous. I was making my way from east through the mountain from Helgen in the middle of the night. I stuck to the path and came up on some nice elk. Also ran into a damn grizzly. I had to shuffle down the road and leave Lydia as my decoy.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Chivalry is dead!
Okay....Marketh has become a bit of a problem now and annoying.
I aim to take that city down and give it to the poor and sick in the Warrens.
Now it's my own quest to do so.
However, is there a mod that allows NPC's who cannot be killed to become vulnerable?
-Falleen
-Jarl whatever his name
and his protector(whatever his name is) are marked for death.
Say goodbye to the good life!
(if I can find a mod that allows it!)

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
A couple guild questions:
Where is the thief guild? And how difficult is the journey to that location?
Does the Dark Brotherhood quest start work the same as in Oblivion?

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Thieves Guild is in Riften... You'll be approached by a guy in the bar there.
For the Dark Brotherhood you have to hear rumors(you can hear these by asking the inn keepers or bartenders) about a kid trying to summon them. Then you should get a quest.Comment

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Even better......if you can get Clairvoyance...it will light up the path for you to your checked quest. Saves a lot of path finding ....going in the wrong direction to find your way up a mountain is a killer.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
How do I get that perk?
How much is a horse, generally? I have ~2700 gold, but I'm saving for a house in Whiterun. I don't mind walking...yet.
Last random question: Is there a way to change your appearance in game, such as war paint? Not that I really care that I have red skull on my face, but his appearance isn't matching his personality...yet. I guess I need to go on some killing sprees and steal ****.Last edited by Fresh Tendrils; 12-29-2011, 01:50 PM.

I am having a blast this time around. I'm already a level 8 and I have been making $$$ chopping firewood and selling it then I have been training with the trainers at least 5 times before I level and my Goon is turning into a beast. It's taking me a long time this time around but I feel am really getting the most out of this game now.
Been making my own armor/weapons now, sharpening my weapons and had no idea about doing this the first time.
"Maximus" is at work bored to death and can't wait to get home. Lol
