Upon accessing this game, you'll notice that there is a higher resolution to this top down shooter, among many other things. First, I can not confirm this, but it looks as if this old game had to have been redone using high definition textures, because it doesn't look exactly like any ordinary game your dad used to play. But there is more to be found.
If you try to play without going to the settings menu, you'll have a hard time picking up this game and never will get the full value of Dead Ops Arcade. The settings menu allows you to accomplish two very important things 1.) review the easy controls with to assist you in quickly learning how to play; and 2.) turn down the horrible background music that comes with Dead Ops Arcade.
Once you jump into this game players will be treated to a welcomed nuance that have not been around for some time, that is, that this game plays just like the old Smash TV (video here) game previously released on older consoles that has yet to be matched in constant fun and entertainment. Which is great for PS3 owners that still do not have Smash TV to download from the Playstation Store (hint, hint Sony!).
Some things yet remain to be seen: Can players play this game in a two player mode at the same time? Will Sony ever release Smash TV on PS3? Can anyone top my early top score in Dead Ops Arcade of completing level 5 and scoring just over 55,000 points!?
Dead Ops Arcade is a fun and welcomed break from the FPS genre, even if it is COD: Black Ops that we're talking about here. If anyone has any tips on this game, or can provide more information on the hidden gem that is Dead Ops Arcade, it can only make us enjoy it more. Thanks.
