Let me respond by this: Do you consider the single player experience in those games comparable to U3? I really hope you say no.

So there's a balance. It's quite obvious there is a focus on online play with those games... that's the basis of their success. For Uncharted it's the exact opposite...

But that doesn't mean the online play wasn't enjoyable.

I view games this way - if a person doesn't have the luxury of buying 4 or 5 games in a 2 months span... would they be happy with X game for a while? Quite honestly the multiplayer in U2 was pretty damn good. It was fun and involving. The two player quests were a blast as well.

No the BF and MW campaigns pale in comparison. But this is strictly my opinion that $60 is not worth it for me when the last 2 UC games I have beaten 2-3 times and then collected dust because their MP is not rewarding to me...Usually we have a BF or MW edition come out yearly and every other year which feeds my appetite for MP.

With BF and MW3 along with already into my NBA2K and Madden 12 gaming, how do I justify spending $60 release day for a game that I can beat it rather quickly because the single player is short as GT stated and the MP is not near as appealing to me as BF and MW3...

I just think that UC3 came out at a bad time. To many great titles out with incredible replay value.

Will I buy it? Yes I will but not right now since I don't see the point

I'm an offline player and i feel that one player gaming has suffered because of the online component however co-op of certain missions etc where you and the other player play togetehr towards a common goal

I tend to agree. I love a good SP game, but if i were given the choice of a game that had SP and good Mp I'd go for the game with Mp every time as that gives me the replay value and the justification of the $60.

I played UC2's MP maybe for a total of 2 hours. It wasn't that great. It's no where the fun that CoD or BF brings for sure. I even had more fun playing Assassins Creed MP last year. Which is why when I get UC3 I'm gonna blow through the SP before Assassins comes out next week so I can play that SP...which I think is longer, and play the MP which is fun to me. Good MP is a must these days if games want to maintain a good replay value...other wise it's just a game that's fun to play through once and move on.

Fair enough. I can respect that take. I will gladly play full price for an incredible single player experience. Batman is another example of this - the game didn't even need a multiplayer component because the game is just that damn good.

I look at this similarly. God of War, Metal Gear...

i feel the same way. i have both Uncharted's, all 3 Assassin's Creed, all 5 GOD OF WAR's, Heavy Rain, L.A. NOIRE and GTA 4. i enjoyed them all and dont regret paying full price for them.

i do understand people not wanting to pay 60 for a single player game but to me it doesnt matter. whether the focus is single or MP, as long as i enjoy it i am happy with it.

plus i like letting my cousins and best friends borrow it after im finish with it so they can enjoy it as well. my best friend who almost always strictly plays sports games, i let him borrow the first Uncharted and he fell in love with it. he then borrowed part 2 from me and beat that as well.

needless to say, he cant wait for part 3.

For people saying UC3 came out at a bad time...most reviewers are giving this game a perfect score. IGN gave it a 10/10 and the only game I remember getting a 10/10 on IGN was Metal Gear Solid. This game is very very unreal too by the way.

The rating the game gets means little to me. Because I know UC3 is a great game but I am strictly talking in terms of what I am currently doing and can I justify spending $60 right now on a game that once I beat it will offer me nothing else.

I love single player games as much as MP games. I only play online when it comes to shooters.

But games like Batman and GTA along with God Of War have a longer and more sustained game that gives you a lot for just the single player.

Would I buy BF and MW if there was no MP or if the MP was not rewarding? No I would not

I am sure that UC based on the first 2 and the reviews of the third are going to be fun for me but when I have time for it because I know I can just get it and beat it and after that it would not offer me much else.

That is the same way I feel about KZ and Resistance...Great single player games but after that their MP does not stand up to MW and BF


I guess I am more of a multi platform gamer where their games usually have great online components that give you the moneys worth.

I will get UC3 but not right now. To busy with many other games to drop $60 on it when I can use that $60 for MW3

I'm SP all the way on my games and look at MP as a nice supplement. I never feel ripped off or that $60 went to waste if the SP is that good. I've also been with Gamefly now for 2 years straight and tend to get a lot of my SP games from there if their not AAA titles. I can finish them in a week or two and send them back with no huge loss to my pocket.

A lot of games have come out at the wrong time this season, but we shall see how things turn out. I think UC3 is coming out at a good time, just needs some marketing muscle behind it and it should sell well. BF3 I think might have taken some of the COD crowd away as people are getting tired of that franchise. I will rent COD from GF, but not purchase as its the same thing over and over to me. If one title was released at a bad time imo, it was Resistance 3. Either Sony should of waited till December/January or released it mid summer.

I was ready to start this game today.

That was until I got to Blockbuster and SURPRISE! "We're closing", they didnt get any copies of the game and they're not forwarding my account over until the 11/6 or 11/7, since you know, that would just be too convenient to do it today for me to use the game pass instead of paying the $10 for a rental

Managed to keep myself from buying this today on my day off. I have to get a new PS3 as well or else I would be playing it already.

Won the battle today, but holding off until I have something else new to play next friday will be difficult. If I can make it to Skyrim, I think I can make it til christmas for this.

Not that i dont trust the 93 on metacritic, but any OSer impressions so far?

If one title was released at a bad time imo, it was Resistance 3. Either Sony should of waited till December/January or released it mid summer.

Completely agree. I love the Resistance franchise but it's not possible for me to make it a day one purchase. I'm playing too many games right now and I'm putting off major titles to play what I already have. During the summer this game would have been a day 1 purchase.

The videogame industry has to space out releases better. I'm skipping games that I will end up buying otherwise.
