Re: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
SpoilerI freaking LOVED those two scenes! Both are easily top ten in my UC moments.
But then again, my favorite episode of House was the one with the bus accident. I guess that kinda stuff is just my cup of tea. To each his own.
I wouldn't have complained if the scenes were even longer.Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 05-12-2012, 06:37 PM.Comment

As for UC3, it just doesn't feel like it belongs in a video game is all... or at least, not in the sense that it is the reason for wanting to play it/enjoying it.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
This bit confused me. You felt they were well integrated into the video game, or you felt they were cool, but are better suited in a movie and ultimately took away from your UC3 experience?
SpoilerIt's one thing if it's like MGS 4 and they just want to show you an entire lengthy sequence of what happens since the plane crash and all, but they are making you control the guy through sequences where you have to move at his slow pace, and there is literally nothing to find. Technically, if there are treasures along the way that I didn't see, this would nullify the "pointlessness" of having control of your character.
Anyway, the way I see it. the problem is that I look at things in hindsight. I knew how many chapters were in the game going into playing it, so I felt like this was a "waste" of a chapter. It's like when Family Guy has incredibly long show tunes or something... you sit there and say "They took out time where they could have put in other material," when they probably didn't have any other material to put in, which was the reason for the show tune.
Either way, it was probably the weirdest gaming experience I had ever endured. When seeing that part in the first trailer, I always wondered how they were going to make a gameplay experience out of it. I guess now I know how.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
There was. Either way, I LOVED that we were still in control... felt like it was actually happening. One of the coolest moments in vide games (along with a couple others in UC3), that I can remember in a long time. Brilliantly done IMO opinion, and I wouldn't have changed a thing about it.Comment

If so, is this a must play and which console is it on?

See, I completely agree with you on Family Guy show tunes. In fact, you articulated exactly what I say in my mind when this happens. But that sentiment doesn't translate for me in regards to the UC3 scenes. I like 'trippy' if it's sophisticated and thought provoking in the process. Interactivity isn't essential for me, but I can see how over a 6-9 campaign, others may want a greater hands on type of payoff. I just personally don't need that.Comment

See DickDalewood's post. I couldn't have said it better myself. But I totally understand where you are coming from.Comment

Re: Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
I just started playing this a few days ago. I don't know why I waited so long.
I'm not too far into the game. I just finished the chapter in where you get to the jungle in France.
But the whole scene with:
SpoilerThe mansion burning was amazing
No other game, that I have played has that type of action and beauty. Half way through everything I could hardly hold on to the controller because my hands were so sweaty. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague
