Fallout New Vegas for PS3.

Loved it while I could play it but after a while it froze every 20 minutes. It eventually lead to the demise of my original Ps3. I lost everything except a single RTTS Save.

It's disappointing because the dev team should have seen these issues coming. There was a poll recently that asked if the ability to create patches hurt initial product quality. I voted no. This game has made me think twice about that answer.

Obsidian has always made extremely buggy games, I wasn't surprised that Fallout ended up having a whole bunch of problems. The ability to patch it only allows them to actually fix their mistakes for once.

Either Madden 11 or UFC 2010 for me.

I figured after all of the improvements made with Madden 10 that they'd step it up even further in Madden 11, but that game just turned into a mess. If it wasn't for Online Franchise I probably would have put that game down in the first week.

UFC 2010 was a major disappointment as well. UFC 2009 was a great debut, despite it's problems, and it looked like they made so many improvements over last year's game, only to turn that into a complete mess and pretty much abandon us sim players.

Went from a must-buy after 2009 came out to a complete pass without regret after trying to demo and seeing the reviews.

I didn't care for MLB 2K11 or Madden, but my expectations are so low for them..

For me, I've got to agree with FFXIII.

I get people saying GTA 5, but for me, it has only been disappointing when I view it in terms of how long they took to release it. I've at least enjoyed playing it, unlike FFXIII.

Could care less about the time. The having to unlock damage, all damage said to be in game is now "hope to add at a later time" and finally the AI is sub par. IMO of course

I have to go with GT5 for me. Just to many bad choices in the making of this game. It just doesn't work for me and to me was the biggest let down of the year.

Of the games I played it would have to be UFC 2010. From looking around at impressions and reactions of other games I'd say Crackdown 2, Fable 3, and the non driving parts of GT5 are up there.

Non-Sports I cant really think of one. I have enjoyed all of them so far.

Madden 11 has been a huge letdown. I've played it probably half as much as I did Madden 10. UFC 2010 was also nowhere near the game 2009 was. So disappointing.

Non-sports ... I don't know... I'd have to say WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011 has been a HUGE letdown. Massive. I'd also say that NFS Hot Pursuit has not been as much fun as I had hoped. The teeth gnashing levels where you have to run entire courses, without hitting anything in a 200 mph car, in a short time limit are beyond annoying. Those "races" are one of the worst gaming moments of the year.

I'll go with Civ V. Really buggy on release, and the AI's pretty piss poor. Then there's the watered-down multiplayer .... and online play is about 90% of why I play strategy games. :-/

Just about all the console games I've played this year have been great. Although I guess I was a bit disappointed in Madden, since they didn't improve online or offline franchise, which are all I play.

In terms of living up to the hype, COD: Black Ops...it was billed as the perfect MW2 but doesn't have the same replay effect.

I agree with Fallout New Vegas. Lots of games have bugs but I can't remember a game that was so broken it corrupted save games. Considering it has taken two months for them to provide a patch it's clear the game wasn't finished when it was released to consumer.

I didn't play Madden 11 but among sports games it seemed like the biggest disappointment from the threads here. It seemed like they failed to build on the momentum of Madden 10. It's so strange they haven't taken the deep franchise options from Head Coach and brought them over to Madden.
