I think I know the answer, but did any of the reviews mention the ending at all? I believe Hudson has fallen back on "critics' reviews" as a defense against his consumer/fans, but I would imagine if the ending causes such a fervor among the fans then surely the reviews would've at least touch on the ending.

Either way, I think its a slippery slope. No matter what BioWare does, they're gonna **** up, though I think completely redoing the ending would be pretty dumb. Either admit that you botched the ending and take it on the chin or try to back up your work with valid, logical answers and reasonings. I would think a commentary of the ending by the head of creative design and the head writer(s) would be a push in the right direction. More content isn't the answer because it will just look like BioWare/EA are money-hungry, willing to cash in on the obvious failure to end a fantastic series (thought judging from the end-game DLC plug they need no help with that).

I am really not expecting it to be free, I hope it will be, but people need to get paid. I just won't buy it.

Unless of course it is something so off the charts that if I don't experience it myself I will die a little inside. Then I'll consider it.

I've been saying all along, I am not up in arms about the ending at all. I'm in the...It was a buzz kill, but it is what it is, I really enjoyed the ride...boat.

That's a perfectly reasonable line of thinking imo. But we all know this probably won't be free. There's already people demanding that BioWare do this at no charge, and I think that's incredibly stupid.

I think they bit off more than they can chew. Your Shepard and choices carrying over from game to game was probably a bigger burden on them than they'll ever admit. Trying to close it all out and please longtime fans, new players, the Action/Story/RPG settings, and multiplayer in a 18 month dev cycle. A project like this should have been 3 years, but that's probably not going to happen under EA's watch.

I totally disagree. The three ending choices were fine in theory but they were executed in what appears to be a rushed underdeveloped ending. I think everyone has to suspend disbelief in a game set in a universe where dark matter space magic enables faster than light travel but this wasn't about suspension of disbelief. It was about the ending making no sense to too many people. From a writer's perspective it was very poorly done.

That's it in a nutshell - they can't explain the things people have picked out as particularly nonsensical because they have no valid explanation. It was just bad writing. The indoctrination ending would be kind of sorta cool if true (even if really depressing) but Bioware hasn't indicated once that it occurred. In fact, that it's so plausible and makes so much more sense than what did occur is strong evidence of how bad the writing and execution were and how out of touch they were with fan expectations.

One thing I can't wrap my mind around

Why the **** is the Normandy running away to be put into a postion to crash land, wasn't Liara, Garrus, EDI, Tali and Javik(DLC prothean)[These are all the ones I've seen exit the Normandy after the crash] on earth when we made the final push?

I can try and conclude about the other endings and it posssibly being indoctrination in my own head but the scene with the Normandy running away makes no sense what so ever.

I agree, as someone who's beaten the game, the climax of reaching the end has already been used. Won't be the same. What's been seen cannot be unseen. Curious to see what they do regardless.

If its a complete and comprehensive ending with full closure and a epilogue then I can easily just block out the other one as one of Shepard's dreams.

just one of many things that don't make sense. I guess BioWare thinks Joker and the 2 squadmates that join him(if you have enough EMS score) are not real friends and runs away from the Sol System before you get to the citdel/catalyst(which is impossible given that one of the members that gets off the Normandy in the scene is usually someone that was with you on that last mission and this is not Star Trek with teleporters), and trys to go...somewhere.

Online gaming changed the gaming industry forever. Now damn near every game has an online multiplayer mode. Even in genres that REALLY don't need them.

IMO if they didn't add multiplayer mode to Mass Effect 3, they could have spent more time getting the ending CORRECT the first time. Same thing with the last 2 Assassin Creed games.

Ever since they added multiplayer to that series, the story of that game have gotten shorter and shorter, with it really not making much sense at all. They jumped all over the place far as story goes.

And we all have seen how online play destroyed the CPU AI game play in sports games. It has gotten to the point in the gaming industry that online play is top priority, story and game play comes afterwards, like an after thought.

This. I cannot fathom how now almost every game has MP, even if they started out as/were successful being single player games. All that dev time they spend on MP could have been allocated to refining the base game.

You will be playing as the grown up child of Shepard. Considering you were able to have sexual relations in this series, he has to have some kids come out of this.

Another thing I just thought about the ending in Mass Effect 3:

Everybody dies.......Really...so much death.

1. Everybody that went to Sanctuary DIED.

2. Everybody that went to the Citadel DIED in the end when the Reapers brought it back to Earth. The entire council, all of C-Sec, everybody in the refugee camp, puragatory, the hosptial, the commons.......They are all dead.

3. How is it possible those Keepers were still alive in the end though walking among all the dead bodies on the Citadel ?

Some random stuff:

1. I just realized Shepard has a bathroom in his office.

2. Why is it he has no TV in his room ? All that room but not one tv ?

3. Why is it so many monitors in the cockpit in front of Joker ? Literally there are a dozen of them.

4. Laira and Javik fight was awesome.

5. The joke Joker said about Thessa and the Assari was funny, even though it was wrong at the same time.

6. Drunk Tali is hilarious......."Emergency injection port" and how she goes on and on about Miranda was funny too.

7. Javik using the memory shard and having the flashbacks was intense. That scene made me like him more, it humanized him.

8. What is up with that black chick recruit and the sergeant on the Citadel in the docks that NEVER leave ? They spend all game arguing over where she wants to go.

don't forget the nearly the entire galactic military is now stranded in the Sol system next to a devastated Earth that can not possibly support the massive military that is there now. The quarians might survive, that is if they brought their life ships with them(I believe they grow/cultivate their own food in the big ships). but the Turians would all die out as they can't eat Human food(I guess they could steal the quarians' food). they couldn't really just try and make it back to their worlds by just FTL drive, but they would likely starve before getting to the next star cluster.

also, when Mass relays explodes, the entire system also is supposed to be destroyed, but I guess that has changed from ME2: Arrival > ME3 ending.

you can authorize her transfer in the spectre office, though I don't remember what happens after that.

After I authorized her transfer, next time I ran through the holding area all I heard was something very familiar..."Cerberus mam?" "is there a problem private?" "I thought---"(I then proceed to run away as fast as possible in disbelief.)
