I start every game I play on normal difficulty, and if it is too easy, I'll move up when I do another playthrough.

As far as ME1, I remember it having a wonky difficulty curve (especially if you do the missions out of order). There were three or four battles in the game that really whipped my *** until I learned the game better/figured out a strategy. However, if you can see it through until the end, I don't remember having any such problems with ME2 and ME3.

I just finished the story a few days ago,after playing through all 3 games over the last few years and rapping up the story these are my thoughts a few day on...

For the most part ME3 was great and i enjoyed it.I loved running into my old squad mates and i thought the conclusions to the

Krogan Genophage

were handled pretty well!.

I also liked Javik,I thought his backstory was so interesting and his flashbacks really brought back memory's of my own ME1 play through!...

I do think they struggled with new characters in ME3!
Below are my thoughts on the Characters and some things i did not like!...It's quite long!

1.Kie Leng/Batman/Goku?
- Was really disappointed with this character,To me he looked like a cross between Dragon Ball-Z/Batman creation,had no back-story,he just didnt fit,i would much rather have seen a badass Yargh ,like the Shadow Broker was! Or something else,
I can understand TIM having a right hand man but where was he in ME2?,I feel as tho they could have introduced us to Kei-Leng a little sooner than Mass Effect 3 or simply used one of the many characters or different species we have come across throughout the whole Saga...

2.We Are KROGAAAANNN!
- Wrex was an Amazing Character a pure war loving Badass that had no fear,but pure Desire and Integrity for the future of his people and Planet Tuchunka.
In ME2 they gave Wrex the more Political Leader role which is fair enough since it fitted into the whole Genophage story arc,and they replaced him with Grunt....(Basically a Wrex Rip Off?),Anyway i grew to love Grunt and the Krogans ,but why couldnt we recruit a Krogan to our party?IMO they were the most popular Alien race especially when it comes to War!....Who wouldnt want Wrex,Grunt/Reave or another Krogan running beside them in ME3?...We had 11 characters to choose from in ME2 and only 6 in ME3..Why?

3.My Squad!
- Sticking to my theme off the Bioware ripping things off and not being Original,There was none more so than poor old James Vega.
A really bad decision here to add another Human to the party...Why?...Well,We already have plenty of Human "Freinds",you either had Kaiden or Ashlee as squadmates + the side missions of Miranda,Jack,Jacob,Bailey,Anderson,Hackett not to mention your crewship mates...Bioware played it safe and tried to create another Broski for the Shepard that we didn't need...IMO Vega was Generic,Boring and even a bit lame at times...and if your going to try and create a badass Hispanic character:

1.It's his Back story that makes him Badass not his Tattoo or Muscles!
2.Just because he says Loco instead of crazy doesn't make him Hispanic.
3.Freddy Prinze Jr doesn't have an intimidating voice and he had one tone through out the whole game!...Poor Choice!

I think i would have appreciated James Vega a little more as maybe just a crew mate,Someone to talk too,Reflect ideas on?...Maybe Garrus could be teaching him some mechanical things and get some squad banter going?...But This character overall was diappointing for me becuase they had the chance to make this character like-able.

Some sugestions:
They could have made Vega a lost Soldier from his Platoon looking for his Leader,who's brother was also a soldier also lost...only later to be told he was stuck in the London clocktower From the Trailer?,Or the Desperate soldier looking for his wife and kids (Ok... i know Dom Santiago LOL!),Or the Real Sour War Soldier that Anderson & Hackett have no trust in.(This is who Zaeed is supposed to be i think....Also Fail)

EDI is different i would have much preferred to keep Legion as my Synthetic Squad mate who did not understand Human Emotion...But instead they gave Legion a Cameo role and gave his Robotic type personality character to EDI and made her fall for Joker?...A Human?....FOR ****S SAKE!...
This was a major miss,I would have much preferred to see Legion fall for EDI and have them come to Shepard on Advice on Love and Human Emotion,& bring EDI into the whole Geth VS Quarian angle,EDI would have asked plenty of questions to both Tali and Legion better explaining the History and Evolving the Story.
The whole Joker/EDI Love thing felt Awkward,Joker loved his ship,he loved being in the Aliance and the whole love/hate relationship they had going in ME2 was fantastic!...Joker was a smartass and was the humour that broke up the war,He was under utilized in ME3 tho played perfectly in 1 & 2.(Seth Green was perfect here!)

4.Decisions,Decisions
- On thing this game missed was a squadmate sacrifice,In ME1 the moment that choice Kaiden/Ashley defined the game,It really left you feeling like you had lost someone close,and the suicide mission in ME2 was really an interesting and intense way to put your team on the line aswell as all the ship upgrades!.ME3 had none of this (Mordin and Tali/Legion DO not count),ME3 didn't give you the lose a friend to gain progress moments.Which is what the game was great at in 1 & 2!.

Those are my thoughts a few days after paying my first playthrough!.

Just beat the game. I loved it. Took me 24hrs to finish and yeah the ending sucked. Not much to say about that.

Aquaman, you hit the nail on the Head with your Character analysis, ME3 had sooooo much potential, and while a great game, missed the chance to be legendary.

I still think that ME2 is a Masterpiece though (Only knock are the Nerfed RPG stuff).

I focused on characters more so than Gameplay...thats a whole new can of beans lol in short im really disapointed too they steered away from the RPG style...considering your travelling the Galaxy imagine the type of Loot they could have added!

As for "that guy",

he comes from one of the ME novels they put out. My only real gripe with him is that he taunted you in the cheesiest way possible. A mostly dead Thane kicks his ***, he has to use tons of reinforcements and a gunship to beat you on Thessia, then when he does finally fight you in the Cerberus HQ, tons of Phantoms drop down

Liked his character both in the books and the game. I guess if you didn't read the book you don't have that previous hate/respect for him because of the books.

Personally I'm happy this game made a solid amount of references to the books. Especially going to the academy and finally meeting Sanders!

The bottom line is it really feels like they were building to one conclusion...but had to scrap everything once the original script leaked and had to speed ball out a brand new direction and the whole game just couldn't handle the swift change.

A lil' disappointing. ME3 really could've been one of the greatest games I've every played. Instead, it's just really good. It's like when Pixar came out with Cars and it was alright. Then they caved to marketing and came out with Cars 2.

Neither were bad movies, but not nearly up to that Pixar standard of all-time greatness.

Cool move on BW's part today to give out 2 commendation packs to PS3 users that were left out of previous operations.

Got my Valiant up to II and picked up a Hurricane I as well. Very happy with those unlocks.

Crazy that I haven't had the heart to pick this game up again, maybe once to play multi since I beat it... makes me sad. Such an amazing series really took a hit with the way they ended it... hope the single player DLC can revive it...

I dont think the game was bad,I loved it!

I'm in the same boat as you. I'll probably wait for the "Extended Cut" and go through on Insanity.
