    720i...1081i...etc..What does it all mean???

    Ok guys...for us folks who are a LOT less in tune with the latest and greatest in eletronics...what is the deal with displaying a game in 720i, etc.

    Personally, I have a PS2 hooked up to a Mistubishi 52" Big Screen with Monster Cable hookup.

    A few questions....

    1. What is the difference between 720, 420, etc?

    2. These adaptor boxes people are speaking of...what do they do?

    3. If I wanted to get the best possible picture...is there something MORE than what I already have hooked up to my TV that I could add??

    4. Is there a huge difference in the graphics for ESPN on the X Box version "maxed out" as opposed to the PS2 version "maxed out"...i.e. all possible visual upgrades added?

    Just really curious and if I wanted to upgrade...I'd appreciate some advice and pricing if known.

                  I moved it. You were basicly asking general HDTV questions.

                  I just did a quick search on HDTV info on google and tons of stuff came back. You might should give google a shot. There was also a HDTV FAQ posted here or in the EE forum a week or two ago. You could search for that.

                      I just did a quick search on HDTV info on google and tons of stuff came back. You might should give google a shot. There was also a HDTV FAQ posted here or in the EE forum a week or two ago. You could search for that.
