Need advice from the pros
The majority of my gaming knowledge revolves around sports. I am looking for an action/adventure/mystery type game that has an amazing, in depth, edge of your seat story. A kind of game that I will not want to put down during my month-long Christmas break. Do any of you fellow OSers have any suggestions? I've considered the F.E.A.R series, but that is all I've come up with. My waiting list contains L.A. Noire and Arkham City. I am willing to take any advice into consideration, and preferably something that won't break my bank meaning that titles maybe a few years old that I can find used are more than welcome. I just need an amazing title with an amazing story. Thanks.Boston Red Sox

Re: Need advice from the pros
Well I'm not sure if you have a PS3, but Uncharted 2 is your game.
The FEAR series is really good though. 1 and 2 are good games.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - Bulls -

Sorry I should have mentioned that. I'm on XBox. Do the Fallout or BioShock games have good stories? Or are they more just shooters w/o a story?Boston Red Sox

Re: Need advice from the pros
Yeah Fallout games have a main story and then side quests. The thing with Fallout games is you can beat in in a day, or spend 100 hours playing it (like I did). It is a RPG and first-person shooter combined.
It is completely open so you can play how you want.Last edited by Buckeyes_Doc; 12-19-2010, 03:54 PM.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

I'd recommend the Condemned series since you mentioned F.E.A.R.Comment

There is a game that was originally on the Xbox but it is now backwards compatible on the 360. The game is Indigo Prophecy, a very well put together game. I looked and buy.com has it for around $15.00

@crypticjordan
Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Need advice from the pros
Well if want something to last you a while, the Assassin's Creed series. Assassin's Creed 1 & 2 are both $20 now. And IMO Assassin's Creed 2 has the longest game play out of the whole series.
Can't go wrong with any of the Splinter Cell games either, they are all good.Comment

Re: Need advice from the pros
Well it's come down to a tough choice between Fallout 3 and the BioShock Series, with a slight lean toward BioShock. Any advice to make this easier? I've checked prices on both and they seem reasonable, but not reasonable enough to get both. They both look amazing. Can anyone explain the pros and cons of either or both?Last edited by TripleCrown9; 12-20-2010, 01:32 PM.Boston Red Sox

Re: Need advice from the pros
Fallout 3 is ugly, lacks style, incapable of making a decent looking character, glitchy as all heck and the story, characters and writing pale in comparison to other Fallout games. It'll last you a lot longer if you manage to like it though. It's pretty great on the PC after about...90...mods though.
Bioshock is a half ***-ed underwater System Shock 2 and over in about 6 hours. Pros? Umm nice graphics and I guess it might've made people look up System Shock 2.Comment
