Nintendo is fighint a losing war on 3rd party support. 3rd parties don't sell well because of the controller and Nintendo games. Yes that sounds weird, but for most people they would rather buy a Nintendo made game vs. a 3rd party because 9 times out of 10 the game is better. But Nintendo has tons of money in the bank, and their Gameboys outsell the PS2. But I love Nintendo games, but I'm more of a Sports Gamer and that's why I traded it in for a Xbox. I wish Nintendo would go 3rd party.

Good points and we are also not talking about small 3rd parties abandoning Nintendo. A perfect example is Rockstar Games and the Grand Theft Auto series.
It is on PC, PS2 and now a bundle is being made for Xbox. Why is Rockstar leaving the Gamecube out of the mix?
You will notice GTA3 is still in the works for the GBA.

Simple, at least to me it is. Of the four (PC,GC,PS2,Xbox), which has the least main memory and disk capacity? Gamecube, of course. Sometimes its tough to port a game over to another system with a lot less main memory available. I read some articles about how N64 used to be a B**** to port to because it only had 4MB(!) of RAM. One example of these articles is found here.
I'm sure a game like GTA3 has nearly maxed out its memory requirements, making it difficult to port to a system with tighter constraints.
