Resident Evil 6 Accidentally Released Early - In Poland

Despite the fact that the game isn't due in stores for well over a month, it appears as though retail copies of Resident Evil 6 have made their way to at least one retailer in Europe. Polish site NeoGo managed to acquire what appears to be a German copy of the game, posting a few off-screen shots as proof, including one in-game picture that's definitely not from the demos that were made public earlier this year.

New demo coming to 360 and PS3 on Sep 18

We're happy to announce today a new Resident Evil 6 demo will be available to 360 and PS3 owners near the end of the month. This demo is available to everyone - not just Dragon's Dogma owners - and contains different content than the Dogma demo.

If you made it out to San Diego Comic-Con, GamesCom or PAX Prime, you'll find this new download fairly familiar, with a few further tweaks. Either way, it's another chance to sample the game's three primary campaigns (Leon, Chris and Jake) prior to the game's launch on October 2.

Don't forget RE6 also contains a fourth campain (Ada Wong), plus Mercenaries and Agent Hunt modes as well as RE.net support.

Some quick notes about the demo:

• Leon and Helena - picks up right where the previous demo left off, with our pair of heroes trying to escape a zombie-infested Ivy University. Free tip: stun enemies with shots to their head or limbs, then move in for a quick melee kill.

• Chris and Piers - Aggressive J'avo enemies clog the streets of Edonia, while our two BSAA agents try to keep the peace. The action is fast and hectic, but again pick your shots and mix up your attack. J'avo will mutate when damaged, so try to go for head shots lest they grow new body parts. As for the huge boss... that's up to you.

• Jake and Sherry - As they run through the infested Lanshiang streets, they come across mutating J'avo who become Chrysalids. If you seen an enemy freeze into a cocoon, it might be better to run than fight. Take note of Jake's melee skills too - he has lots of options so play around. Wesker's son knows how to fight!

Resident Evil 6 Getting 3 New Modes as DLC, 360 timed-exclusive

Capcom has announced three new gameplay modes coming to Resident Evil 6 as post-launch downloadable content:

• Survivors Mode will let players respawn as enemies when they’re killed and attack humans. Killing two characters will allow players to respawn as a human, and the last man or team standing wins.
• Predator Mode has one player take the role of the Ustanak, a “fearsome B.O.W.” that other players will have to try to kill. Players will have to try to kill the Ustanak before time runs out, “or at least survive until the end of the session.”
• Siege Mode will have two teams (one human, one enemy) and a single non-playable character. The human team will be tasked with protecting the NPC, while the other team will try to kill them. If the NPC is still alive when the game ends, the human team wins.

All three modes will support up to six players and will be played using maps from Mercenaries mode. For now, a Capcom spokesperson told IGN “The modes are a timed exclusive for Xbox 360 and at this time we cannot comment about other platforms.” The three modes will be trackable on ResidentEvil.net, the stat-tracking service Capcom announced last month.

Are you one of the Resident Evil purists who hasn’t been a fan of the inclusion of co-op into the series since RE5? Well, Capcom has heard your cries for help, and their tossing you a bone. A chewed up, slimy, disgusting little bone. The Lone Wolf ability in Resident Evil 6 is one of many unlockable (and optional) modes that will alter the way you play the game. This one in particular turns your AI partner into a completely worthless companion. With Lone Wolf enabled, they won’t shoot at enemies or heal you when you need them to. In fact, it looks like the only thing they will do is help you open doors. It’s good to know chivalry isn’t dead.

It's not like the AI they had in the first place was convincing enough to even put that mode in. The AI in RE5 and even Gold Edition is horrible, adding a mode like just puts the icing on the cake stating they're to lazy to give you quality AI that actually helps you.
