Don't post on here much anymore but just wanted to throw my quick two cents in.

The maps are very under-whelming. After going from Black Ops, which had a fantastic variety of maps, to this which just seems to be one tight alleyway after another, it just seems like the devs wanted to steer the action in a particular direction (run n gun). The blandness can't compare to the originality of Black Ops and especially COD4.

I also miss the levelling system in Black Ops. To go from that to the "same old same old" feel from previous MW's, the only significant change is the Strike Packages which admittedly do change things up enough for players like me who are a little more slow paced. Love the Support strike packages and it help low kill/low death guys like me contribute to a team effort more.

As far as the good, there's still plenty of that. The customization is awesome for your classes. The gameplay is still gold and the online is unbelievably smooth. Very impressed with how well the servers held up all day on launch. Usually not the case.

It's still great but I definitely will be going back to Black Ops in time. Just more variance to the matches online.

I agree with a lot of this, I just feel like I am crazy because I love the maps. The game reminds me a lot of COD4. In fact these may be my favorite maps of any series, but I am a huge Rainbow 6 fan as well.

I am enjoying all of these maps except like one in MW2 and Black ops I had between 2 & 4 maps that I did not like but I like all of the maps for this one

Survival mode might be the hidden gem in this game for me. I played it a couple of times last night and it was a blast. They should have made it up to 4 players like zombies, but it's a nice alternative if the online multiplayer gets frustrating.

I flat out suck in multi player. It's just not as fun when you're getting your *** handed to you every round. A brotha could sure use some tips from some of the guys having success (1.0 kdr and up). I don't know if it's my choice of guns or how I'm maneuvering the maps. I'm dying from all sorts of directions. I think I've cleared out a room and someone comes up from behind and kills me. Ugh...HELP! LOL

ScoobySnax, you need time to learn the maps. Once you get a hang of the maps, the game will slow down and you will start improving. Take your lumps now and then pass out lumps later. What helps me is that I usually shadow the best player in the lobby and learn some of his tricks, lol.

I'm at 1.08 I think right now.

Use the map borders. Do not sprint a lot. Just sprint through open areas but then I crouch walk a lot to be honest. Practice drop shotting. I drop down every time I reload. It is easier if you use the tactical button setup so your right thumbstick controls crouching.

Get off the grid..use Blind eye and Assasin. I also use a silencer since it helps me take out a room of guys before they can react to it.

Practice shooting from the hip, it will help you win 1 on 1s.

Learn spots on the map that you can circle around and defend. It's like controlled camping, where you lock down an area and are always moving, not just lying there waiting for someone to run by.

Anyway, that is what works for me. everyone has different styles.

Is Elite working yet? Glad that I didn't get the premium version. I might sometime down the line, if it ever works.

I played a good amount last night.

My kill to death ratio is embarrassing.

LOL.

This game moves at a breakneck pace most of the time, but I found myself having a blast even with my skill deficiency.

Is Elite working yet? Glad that I didn't get the premium version. I might sometime down the line, if it ever works.

There is different versions of Elite? I thought it was $49.99 for the subscription?

There is a standard version that is free, and a premium version that is 50 bucks.

I have the standard version and it wasn't working last night.

Two questions: What is drop shooting and how can I win gun battles shooting from the hip instead of aiming down the sights? Wouldn't I be inaccurate (I know you said practice though LOL)? I'm gonna give you guys' tactics a try. Thanks to you both.

All very good tips. Definitely stay to the perimeter of the maps until you get a handle on them. I also run with a silencer on my gun along with the Blind Eye and Assasin perks as well as the one that helps you with your hip fire accuracy (name escapes me) and have gone from something like a 0.6 K/D to almost even in one day. Very helpful tips and remember, alot of these guys have been playing some version of COD alot more than you most likely so be patient.

I average right around .45 k/d on both COD and BF.

Wonder if 'ModelOfMediocrity' is being used as a gt?
