You get a $5 rewards certificate for every $250 dollars spent. Also you get free ground shipping on Bestbuy.com Gamers Club Unlocked is basically a subscription service. Offers great perks to buying your games at Best Buy. 20% off new games, 10% off used games. Extra 10% on trade ins. Welcome coupons thats gives you a buy 2 get 1 free deal on used games and 2 others I forget exactly what they are. So say with Watch Dogs you pre order it and buy it. With you GCU membership it comes out to $51 including tax. You also get a $10 reward certificate for pre ordering so basically you paid $41 for Watch Dogs new on release day. Wolfenstein was a $20 rewards certificate so it was $31 for Wolfenstein on release day. Cant beat that anywhere else. Also with Wolfenstein they ran out of some mini statue everyone was supposed to get so they added a extra $5 in rewards certificate so it could actually have been $26 on release day lol.
GCU isn't free though, you have to pay something to get the 10% off new games and all that. I don't know what the current charge is, i got a deal last december that was awesome for being a part of their prior program.

My Best Buy is free. Thats Best Buys rewards program. GCU is $120 but right now its 50% off.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

GCU is free in that you still receive 2X trade-in bonus on games and hardware. Can even redeem reward certificates. The paid version is when the 20% off new games and $10 reward certificates come into play.

I'm debating signing up again today when picking up Watch Dogs. $60 I can justify, but the $120 they were asking was ridiculous.

          Yeah, 20%, my bad.

IMO it's worth it at the lower price, but not 120....

Isnt the membership for 2 years? At that rate, you'd have to buy 12 games from them in 2 years for it to pay for itself, without any other perks.

Yeah, it was so much better before when they gave $20 credit back for some new games instead of $10.

Its on sale for $60, at this rate you have to buy 5 games. You save $12 per game. At the normal price of $120 would be 10 games. Before tax games are $59.99 with GCU its $47.99

Best Buy is going under from my understanding. Downsizing has begun.

They have struggled but I don't see them going away completely.

They recently trimmed a ton of managers and supervisors. But that's all. Nothing as far as store closings or standard employee layoffs.

BB looks to be doing something similar to Target but not quite there. They say estimated, so they seem to fall short of those estimates.

                              BB up to $40 Trade-In PS4 and XB1 Games

They're building a brand new Best Buy here, a little smaller than the current one. I don't see them completely going away.
