I think because you still have to log into the Best Buy site and/or use a credit card/name with Best Buy is what would stop that but not sure, you bring up a great point.

I will likely find something to try this with tonight as I have $20 in reward certificates from BB to use as well.

Just got an email that Amazon is canceling their preorder discount, and going to $10 coupons with select games like Best Buy has

Yea, it seems like maybe both companies are not making as much money on the games by implementing the discounted policies. There must not be a high mark up on games, so the margin of money they make on them is probably already low. Maybe with them offering those discounts they actually lose money, and with the amount of people that do it, ends up hurting them in the end.

I dont buy stuff much on amazon any more have not for a long time because of how BB had the gamers club and I dont use amazon enough for prim to be worth it and amazon having to charge tax and the fact that like all games used to come with credit on amazon but not any more. Yeah it does suck I dont have the best job and playing video games cost a lot of money with games costing $60 and with getting a new like $400 or so system ever like 5-6 years or so. But with how much money was saved by these kind of deals I saved a lot of money. Now with it gone once my gamers club is no good any more come early next year I may have to wait on games to go down in price and the bad thing is that when it comes to Nintendo there games like almost never go down in price. But I am not surprised because once BB got rid of there thing I figured amazon would get rid of it soon to.

Not to mention Best Buy was probably doing fine with it until Amazon did the same thing, then they didn't have an incentive over the online business to keep that going by generating more sales through it.
