    What is the difference?

Because I didn't know there was a game edition or what it did differently

      It's black?

Seriously I've been trying to figure that out myself. I have the regular edition and I don't see a difference

You can record anything that plays through the Hauppauge. So if you have it connected to your cable box, you can record what ever you watching on cable, connect it to your blu ray or dvd player, you can record that too and Nextflix, Crackle, HBO Go, etc via the console.

I know some people that got a couple TB portable HDDs filled up with movies and tv shows.

Green light instead of blue light at the top and it comes with a universal console adapter component cord. That is the only major difference, other then them changing the name of the program that you edit with, still the same program just a different name now.

I don't use their editing software anyway, I use Sony Vegas.

Yeah the only difference is the looks and the universal cable that comes with the gaming edition. I also am going to use Sony Vegas....
Mine just arrived today so Saturday I'll hook it up and play around with Vegas.

                  PC systems requirements
Processor Requirements (minimum): Dual core CPU 2.0GHz or faster
Windows 7 (32 and 64-bit), Windows Vista or Windows XP service pack 2 (32-bit)
Graphics with 256MB memory (or greater)
                  Sound card
CD-ROM drive for installing the HD PVR software

Note: when playing back video recordings made with the HD PVR on your PC screen, a fast CPU meeting the specs noted above and at least 256MB of graphics memory are needed.

                    1GHZ processor

Keep in mind, that would take all damn day with those specs. But your average store bought quad or duo core laptop with 3GB of RAM or more you could edit a 1GB file in about a few hours.

Now if you have a med range or high end graphics card, that would cut the rendering time by a TON.

So rendering isn't really a problem. It is the uploading that is a problem if you have slow upload ISP speed. Because even after rendering, file sizes be around 700mb to 900mb for like 1 hour of HD game play.

The longer the time, the bigger the file. Luckily my ISP speed is pretty good, around 6mb upload speed.

                      Universal Console Adapter....lol

                      Mines has that too...

All I see different is the green light versus blue light and the black on top...nothing else....

And my program does the same, they have the same recording software. But I guess changing the color to Xbox Green, makes it sell...lol

                      still same recording quality..

Don't think anyone bought it because it was different. I was in the market for one and that's the one I grabbed.

Yeah it will fly on that laptop. IMO the Hauppauge should be a lot cheaper then what it is, since it has been around for years now. But hey it is still cheaper then and more user friendly then the Black Magic.
