    ARMA 2

O...M...G, where the hell has this game been all my life. I've been searching relentlessly for a realistic FPS with some sort of depth and not just another COD clone then BAM!! Out comes this masterpiece developed by the same brains who made the original Operation Flashpoint.

Yes, I am late to the party but this is by far the greatest discovery I've made since I first played Morrowind for my RPG fix. I'm not a fan of the twitch shooting mechanics and lack of any real SP mode in the COD games. I played Battlefield 2 and while it was enjoyable online, offline left alot to be desired. As for the FPS market, these are the best of the bunch. The cream of the crop. Nothing else compares to those 2 games when it comes to console FPS....

....then my research brought me to ARMA 2. I read about the bugs and glitches, I read that the game is nearly unplayable in SP. Then I discovered a brand spanking new patch just recently released that fixed a ton of issues that has plagued the game since its release. All I can say is WOW, why have I neglected this gem...this diamond in the rough. The game has everything. Tons of guns (over 8 rocket launchers and thats without any expansion packs!) drivable vehicles, planes, helicopters, parachutting that feels authentic and this is all in a huge open ended world with mission based objectives that you can tackle in any order you wish. Its like GTA meets COD meets Battlefield.

What makes this game even more special to me is that its realistic as hell. I nearly balled up and cried in one of the training missions. Laying prone under a car, begging the almighty for my life while bullets wizzed past me with some of the most realistic effects I've heard in quite some time. And this is just training?

This game had me salivating like I stuffed a bag of taffy in my mouth.
Games like COD, Battlefied and Halo will never see the lights of day from me. NEVA!!! To top it off I found the game pretty decent on the lowest settings. I'm already about to pick up a new graphics card to run this bad boy. Last but not least, with all the expansions it has and the ability to make my own, I'm never gonna put this game down.

Sorry if this thread is circa 2009 but I'm geeked. You guys just dont know how hard I searched for a good FPS. I've been looking for the longest. This is my game right here. Call of Duty just turned to Call of Booty.

Where is this guy? He must enlighten me about this game. Where to find some good MP games, any additional add-ons, etc.
