I tried copying and pasting from the PDF but it thrashed the formatting. None of the selections are all that surprising, though I am disappointed with Grim Fandango not getting the nod.

Smithsonian The Art of Videogames
They recently ran an online vote (I thought I had seen it posted here but now I can't find it) and winners were announced today.

Re: Smithsonian The Art of Videogames
I don't think they sorted catagories well. Halo 2 is not art in comparison to JSRF or Pyschonauts. On a similar note I'm suprised Okami won over FFX. There's a streaming thing going on somewhere but I only watched it for about 10 minutes and it needed a password.Comment

Re: Smithsonian The Art of Videogames
A tad bit surprised that none of the original Sonic The Hedgehog games were chosen to represent the Sega Genesis. I have no idea if they were part of the original vote, however.
Also, no Grand Theft Auto.
Nice to see Portal and Minecraft in the modern games list.
On the whole it's a nice cross-section of video games across time, which I think was the intention.Comment

GTA wasn't nominated, I would guess they wanted to stay away from controversy.Comment
