1UP.com Joins Forces With IGN Entertainment

Wow,soon there won't be any independent gaming sites. You'll only read the reviews THEY want you to read, buy the games THEY want you to play.

Don't worry, he'll always be around to kick *** and chew bubblegum, but he's always all out of bubblegum.

Ehh. Haven't regularly gone to either of them in years. Much better content at places like Giantbomb, Joystiq, Shacknews and Rock, Paper, Shotgun.

pretty much this...if i recall 1up tried that myspace approach for gamers...i pretty much stopped going there after that...

          dont forget Kotaku and Destructoid

i love Giantbombs quicklooks probably the best honest look at games...makes it easier for me to decide to get the game or not...i was close to buying blood bowl till i saw the quicklook, saved me some money

Didn't know they had a Blood Bowl quick look. I'll have to check it out.

One less site publishers have to pay off now.
Though I haven't really paid attention to 1Up since they switched to using letter grades.

1up hasn't really been good since the early days when it was all ex-EGM dudes running it.

I haven't visited it in forever.

Kotaku and Blues News gives me all my gaming joy so not really feeling this.
