I just ran into a field with an all out animal war going on. Cassowaries, buffaloes, rabid dogs, and two tigers just going at it. There's also two tortoises walking slowly across this field. Buffaloes are the weak link so far.

Just made it to the second island and am enjoying the game a great deal. Has anyone beat the game yet? If so, are you still able to explore the map once you're done? I've basically just been clearing out enough outposts to cut down my travel time between areas but not bothering with a lot of them. Just wondering if I'd still be able to do that once I'm finished with the game.

How difficult is this game as you progress? I'm hoping it doesn't turn into a Skyrim type experience where once you hit a certain level, you are basically a walking God. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED Skyrim, but I'm hoping this one has a bit more challenge, even as you progress.

I just started this game, but am i the only one who thinks there are too many chest around to explore. Seems like there is a chest every few meters, getting kinda annoying. Im on normal difficulty now, wonder if their are less of them on hard difficulty.

Do what I do...
I just ignore them.
I only take ammo off of my kills...and don't loot the bodies.(I don't use the store or lockers to purchase new weapons.)
I'm going through the entire game with my knife and AK-47.
I will take weapons off of kills though(sniper rifle....etc)

Well overall the game is easy. However it's really fun and enjoyable.
Eventually I am loading the hardcore mod to remove the minimap and other stuff.

The game does no get more difficult as you progress. Some missions may have more enemies then others, and sometimes it would be in your best interest to go stealth.

What I found to get harder as the game progressed was the outposts. IMO, the outposts on the second island were alot more difficult then the ones on the first island. Most of them on the second island has heavies, and it takes more bullets to but down the mercs. Im guessing they wear body armor. Also, if the alarm is triggered, it seems like more reinforcements come. A helicopter even showed up at one outpost I was trying to take, and the alarm was triggered.

Thinking of grabbing this. I never played the first two but I rented Far Cry 3 from Redbox and really enjoy it.

I feel like I have ADD, I keep getting sidetracked from my mission. I was close to grabbing the hang glider the. Fell off the mountain to my death!!! Haven't been back yet.

Haha...I did the same thing.
I did the "slide" for the first 1/3...and then....SPLAT.

...and in regards to the difficulty of the game....that's why I went with a sort of survivalist mode(no buying weapons...no looting bodies for money(no reason to if I'm not buying weapons/ammo...I know they are free by unlocking, but I don't upgrade) and only taking ammo off kills)
Even though it's not a difficult game(and maybe BECAUSE it's not a difficult game per se)....it's still very intriguing...tense and FUN!

I didn't like FC1...didn't try 2...but I'm glad I read this thread and gave 3 a shot.

I like that it's not Dark Souls 2 hard, but difficult enough where I can die if I'm not careful.

This is the perfect "play for an hour or two" game for me. I was able to play more this weekend and had a blast hunting relics and clearing some outposts. I've done the Medusa mission, that's it so far with the story, but that'll be fun when I get there.

My priority is crafting, I want all the packs! I also love all the hunting missions too....

The control on this game is great. Everything feels so fun.

Some of the hunting missions require you to use a bow, do you keep it after that?

All pirates I've seen have AK-47's or snipers...maybe a shotgun here or there but not too often.
