    GTA IV: PC

Alright, instead of going back through the massive thread that is all things Grand Theft Auto IV, I wanted to see if there were any OS'ers playing GTA 4 still. In looking for some nice PC games, I was directed to a video showing some crazy graphics for GTA4. Digging some more, I've found some VERY nice mods:

I'm new to the GTA4 modding scene, but will be getting into it a little when I grab my PC. What are some good mods that you guys are using? Are there any new "stories" or anything?

GTA has some fantastic MODS, wish I had a gaming PC just for this.

The Fat Man Rag-doll MOD never gets old.

That was great. When he fell off the building onto the little old ladies.

I do remember playing the initial game, and the cousin kept getting on my nerves. I'm assuming it's going to happen when I start it up. I just placed the order for my MB & Processor, so hopefully within the next week I'll have something strong enough to showcase this game.

What MB & processor did you go with?

I'm getting ready to start gearing up for Rage, BF3, and Skyrim myself.

Not too bad for the price, $300 between the two.

I've been looking for other mods. Maybe some more realistic fighting animations, or something along those lines. I know GTA 4 is getting relatively dated, but if I'm going to start it up, I want a pretty fresh feeling.

Ahh, this game for the PC. A love-hate relationship for me. I have it, and can run it, but not that great. I still love playing it on my PC sometimes over the 360, but I wish I had a better PC for it. I think I'll build a new one at the end of this year that should be able to run this pretty easily.

Also, WTF, you can put the cell phone on sleep mode in the game which will stop Roman, the cousin, from calling you all the time to go bowling, drinking, etc.

I think I'm going to give Intel a try this time around. Got my eye on an i5 2500k Sandy Bridge.

I could never get GTA 4 to work on Windows 7. Been a while since I tried reinstalling tho. Where and how do you install these mods? That is crazy!

That's what I was thinking too man. The graphics that they're showing is insane. Hopefully I won't have any trouble installing. What problems did you run into Steve? I've not even began, just looking through everything looks amazing though.

That video above, near the end of it shows some crazy realistic graphics. I found a video that shows a new NYPD Taurus mod too, it's awesome.

Does GTA IV support a controller on PC?

Goodness I hope so. I'm almost positive it works flawlessly with the 360 controller though, I think I read that somewhere. If not, count me out, ha.

Yeah, now I'm enamored wanting to see this up and running on the Plasma. Looks amazing no doubt. I figured we'd have some of the modders here on OS at least, hopefully someone will chime in here to let us know how difficult it is.
