Haven't started playing yet, but I'm about to try a little of this Spartan Ops. Wow, do the characters faces look realistic in these cutscenes.

Re: Halo 4
cant wait for this.i think its gonna be amazing, gonna get it hopefully around Christmas time but video games usually don't get any discounts so i might just get it this week.a little off-topic but why don't i have permission to create a thread, i can post n have double checked that my account has been activated.
PS: don't care which is better but i love halo and battlefield because they dont come out every year, its like how apple only has one type of phone so they have more anticipation for the new one.i tried not touching anything when i was younger and ended up pissing all over myself.Comment

Re: Halo 4
Watched a complete playthrough of the Campaign on Youtube. No doubt this is more visually striking overall than Reach, Halo 3, and ODST thanks to a better and more cohesive art direction, superior shaders, lighting, mo-cap, facial animations, ect. The realtime cutscenes are on another level and whoever did the CGI for the Prologue and Epilogue deserves some recognition. That's some Square and Blizzard level ****.
But there's been trade-offs: the actual playable spaces are smaller and narrower than a lot of the ones found in the previous Halo games, except for Halo 2, which Halo 4's spaces resemble more closely. It's easy to compare because there's very similar sequences across all the games. There's nothing in H4 that approaches the spaces and enemy count of Tsavo Highway, The Covenant, The Ark from Halo 3, or Tip of the Spear, Long Night of Solace, New Alexandria from Reach to name a few.
There's far less dynamic lights. What was so impressive about Reach was the insane number of dynamic lights. Loading up a Firefight game on Corvette on Legendary with all skulls and turning invulnerability on, then standing in the middle of the map to admire the light show. Every single projectile from a Covenant weapon would cast a light source dynamically across the environment. This is almost entirely absent from Halo 4. No camera or object motion blur, but this is hard to tell on Youtube. Also, no Campaign Theater as of now. If it does come later, it will be interesting to see if you can fly as far away as in previous Halo games, and if they allow you to fly into drop ships and stuff. Arguably a waste of resources, but it was neat how the interior of the ships was actually modeled and textured.
Looking forward to Digital Foundry's analysis since I'm interested in the tech behind games. Game looks awesome. I wish I had a 360 still, but it's hard to justify getting another for just one game, even for as much as I love Halo.Go Noles!!! >>----->Comment

Re: Halo 4
Game seems fun, but I can't kill a soul. It seems like even when I get the drop on guys I still end up dead. I started to think it's my connection because I'm having issues in NBA 2K13 as well. Gonna have them upgrade me to their fastest internet tomorrow. This better make a difference because I'm digging it so far.Comment

Re: Halo 4
Holy **** after that intro, I can not believe the 360 is pumping out these kind of graphics in year 7. Election coverage on one TV and H4 on the other......Comment

Re: Halo 4
Holy crap.
I just watched the GT review.
Those CGI scenes are mindblowing.
They LITERALLY look like live action scenes.
This game looks incredible, I am not a fan of Halo however I did enjoy Reach.
This looks like I may be splurging this weekendCharger Fan Born and Raised!
