Re: PC or Console?
Since I have gotten a wireless 360 controller working on my PC and I have connected my PC to my HD TV via an HDMI cable recently, I have shifted back toward PC gaming.
I have a decent system so I'm waiting for some of the new games for the PC.
Skyrim, BF3, and Diablo III if it ever actually happens.....Comment

Re: PC or Console?
Console. Haven't touched a PC game since I bought my PS3 (in December). Tired of the system requirements stuff and don't really care about modding. No reason for me to play on the PC as long as the console works. My Specs:
ZX Spectrum
CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
GPU: Monochrome display
RAM: 48 KB
OS: Sinclair BASICComment

Re: PC or Console?
I've been gravitating more and more to the PC these days. So much so that if I have a choice in certain games I choose PC. Better graphics and more customization makes it a no-brainer for me.PS: You guys are great.

Re: PC or Console?
It's good to see that BF3 will make the PC Version the better buy, but I still hear that people will get the console version. A lot more then I hear people for the PC Version, it just doesn't happen enough anymore where the PC "wins" a bigger fanbase.Comment

Re: PC or Console?
I've made up my mind to make PC my primary hardware of choice. The only problem is my current setup is Sony Vaio laptop (i7 q720 1.60ghz, 6gb ram, nivida 310m 512mb). The processor is very good, gpu not so much, though I can play most games at med/high (The Witcher 2 being the lone exception)
Right now the only franchises tying me to consoles are Team ICO games, Uncharted, Gran Turismo, Infamous etc..
The plan is to build my own rig by next spring/summer. It's become painfully obvious that the PC version of games are better. The cost of hardware and lack of gamepad support are what kept me away from the pc gaming scene. Now that most games support gamepads (and I've become more accustomed to m/kb, beat both Mass Effect games that way), and hardware isn't that costly when you put things into perspective. I'm ready to jump back in.
Steam (and similar services) is what really sold me though... Between the summer/fall sales (mid-week and weekend), the growing indie market. I've found my self gaming on the pc much more often than the console.
PC games are also priced more attractively, and go on sale much quicker. I'm honestly getting tired of paying $60 for console games. The average new pc title is $49.99, throw in the pre-order discounts and you're looking at $39.99 in some cases. While the same game is $60 on console, and 95% of the time are inferior to the pc version.
So there it is. Hopefully, by next spring/summer I'll complete the shift. I'll continue to game on consoles for their exclusives only.Comment

I've got no problem with PC gaming, I just prefer the ease of console gaming. That and sitting on the couch!"You can not ensure success, but you can deserve it." - John Quincy Adams

And with a wireless 360 gaming receiver it can be done using a wireless 360 controller, sitting on your own couch.
Wireless keyboard/mouse combo lets me sit on the couch, don't have to get up to change games if I want to play something else. The lazy mans gaming setup.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: PC or Console?
I recently bought a fairly stout PC for the first time, and am moving into PC gaming a bit. I really only play game at this point (MLB 2k11), but I think I may go more PC in the future. I still like my Console, but the PC is nice too. I just finished Dragon Age on my Xbox, and I think I'm going to trade those games in, and when I decide to play through them again (which probably won't be too long from now) buy them for PC and go that route.Comment

Re: PC or Console?
So I've held off buying a new desktop pc or labtop for gaming for a while now or building my own for that matter. But since skyrim is coming out next month and Battlefield is right around the corner...I think it's only right to get a new pc relatively soon. I found this gem of a deal on Newegg today for $699:

The graphics card is pretty sweet, and I could always upgrade it in the future. I'd probably have to upgrade the power supply to do so, but overall I think it's a good deal.
Any advice or opinions on whether or not this is a good deal?Comment

Re: PC or Console?
I recently bought a HD TV and a PS3. More times than not though I am just plugging my laptop into my TV with an HDMI and gaming on my PC. PC gaming all the way. I spend way too much time going to digital download sites like Steam/Impulse/GOG and buying up cheap games all the time.Comment
