Wow, really shocked to see this thread for some reason. Played DOTA since the original (completely different game) on the original WC3 in 2004, pretty insane to see how it's a real mainstream game now.
I've had DOTA 2 for a while, about a year at least, but never got into it. Really hated the visuals as compared to Dota Allstars (TFT/Dota1). Recently started playing Allstars again after about a year out of it, and as I get comfortable/good again my interest in it is waning due to it being a dead environment. In turn, would be interested in giving Dota2 a go with some people.
Played Allstars from about 2007-2011, with a couple long breaks in between. I played at a decent level before. Scrim'd with a mid-tier American team for a while. Played a bit in the (at the time) highest level inhouse league, as well as all the top US leagues. This was all in about 2010/2011 though, so I'm not that good anymore. Definitely still getting the swing back.
Really would love to play with some cool people. The community really is beyond terrible (it's been that way since the beginning). I've got a good background so I can give tips and the like as well. Hell, if I can help anyone pick it up a bit better, I'd love that. It's really an amazing game, the only non-sports game I've ever really played.
Would take me a bit to get adjusted to the visuals of DOTA2, but I can adjust I'm sure.
I'm not totally familiar with Stean, but I'm pretty hyped if anyone wants to play, so add me my name is "asdlkm". Especially if we could play as a group of five or something, that'd be dope.
