Quick impression from loading the game up.

I like the selection process, simple yet so fitting.

Selected ICO, loaded it up... removing jaw from floor. 1080p, it looks REMARKABLE!

I can not believe this is the same game. Such a nice job on the conversion. Wow!

    Ok, back to gaming!

Totally forgot about this until I felt the game again... Eurogamer said it best...

It's still the single best piece of rumble feedback in games. You know it, right? A little stumbling shudder that shakes timidly through the pad. For once, it's not telling you where to dig for treasure, or that you're taking damage, or that the emperor's fleet is attacking the hangar so you'd better scramble to the next cut-scene. Instead, it's telling you that you're running along holding hands with Yorda, and that she's struggling to keep up with you.

It's good, but Psycho Mantis is still the best use of rumble, ICO is probably a close second though with it's subtle and clever use.

Psycho Mantis was more screwing up your controller and predicting your actions, than "rumble" though from what I recall.

My copy is shipping today (released Friday in the UK). That gives me this, Fifa, and NBA released all within a week. Wow!

One thing I want to add as well, is with the crystal clear HD picture, you can actually see the emotions in the face of the characters... it is truly remarkable all these little details you could not really see due to the low resolution on the PS2.

It is like a whole new experience...

I never got a chance to play ICO, can someone break it down for me? What kind of game is it?

Didn't get to play Ico as much as I wanted last night. Got to the first save point and had to call it quits or else my woman was going to have my head on a plate. (She didn't want me to get any further so nothing was spoiled for her) I'm really liking it so far. Such a huge environment for such a little character. Can't put my finger on what it is, but I really like it so far.

Never played the originals, so I definitely will be picking this up. Just a matter of when.

It is hard to describe... it is more of an "experience", the details, sounds, music, animations, art design, feeling, etc.

There is slight platform and puzzle solving, but it is more a "feeling" and about the experience of the world, and you trying to take care of some girl you do not even know, but yet you get the feeling of wanting to take care of her.

There has never been a game like it before, that captures such emotion to me personally.

                    Best to read this...

For the character, see Ico (character). ICO (イコ Iko, pronounced "ee-co") is the first of Team ICO's games, first released for the PlayStation 2 in 2001. The game has since received a European reprint in 2006, to celebrate the PAL release of Shadow of the Colossus, Team ICO's second game (as well as a "spiritual prequel" to ICO). ICO was re-released alongside Shadow of the Colossus as part of The ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection for the PlayStation 3 on September 2011. Click here to...

But again, seeing it at face value does not capture the "feeling" you get when you play the game. Feeling almost like you are in this large world, and you versus the environment. It is crazy.

Re: Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection (PS3)

                      On Ico:

Agree with your assessment of 'feeling' rather than kind of game. It is more an experience than anything else. Don't get turned off by the lack of action, or mood even, the journey is so inclusive to the game that that is the part of the game that you are playing. It's the totality of the entire game. I really felt like I did something when I played it on the PS2. Nemesis said it best, by that it has bits of puzzle, bits of platform, bits or exploring, and bits of action that envelope the experience, and to top it off it is in this beautiful and expansive setting.

Having played both of them and not wanting to "spoil" anything for the newcomers to the series, I'm not necessarily going to post impressions other than; wow!

These games look incredible compared to the PS2 iterations. And most certainly agree about the emotions in the characters faces now. Just WOW! It's the same games but almost feel new. Simply incredible and worth the price of admission. I would have paid $60 (happily) and I still have both my original PS2 copies from when they first came out (+ a sealed copy of Ico ).

I hope everyone that is interested in playing both these games, as they really are "timeless" classics in the Panzer Dragoon Saga kind of way (and I'll never get rid of that game either ), get the opportunity to appreciate and become fans as most of us on here have.

btw, the shrink wrap is still on NHL 12 and Fifa 12.

                        You conveyed it perfectly Barry.

I could not have said it better.

Can not wait to get home and play it.

May have to pick this up today. I was going to hold off because of BF3 and Elder Scrolls but since I passed on SC Trilogy I may jump.

I checked 2 different stores for this today, all sold out. Looks like this will be the next HD collection that does very well. I guess I have to wait till sometime next week now to find this.

BBY has this deal where if you buy 2 select PS3 collections, which I just bought GOW: Origins, you get $20 off. I was hoping to take advantage of that.
