    PS3 Audio/Laptop

Anyone know how I'd be able to get sound from my PS3 if I connected it through my laptop?

The type of adapter I currently have is this(I plugged it into my pc soundcard and then plugged in the red and white cords from my ps3 cable into the other side)

That worked just fine with my desktop computer(and still does). But I don't want to have to turn on that computer all the time just to get sound. I'm hoping there's a similar way to get sound through my laptop from my ps3.

I tried plugging in that adapter to the microphone jack and plugging in the red/white cables into the other end of the adapter and then connected my speakers to the headphone part of my laptop, but it didn't work(though it did work for my desktop computer)

Make sure the microphone isn't muted.

Mic wasn't muted, but I did end up looking for some diff properties in the mic section and changed one of them and now it works.

Though at random times, the audio starts going real low and gets choppy. That never happened on my PC and my pc had a way worse/older soundcard

I recorded it through my laptop(since the ps3 audio was playing through the mic jack,so its a direct recoding). This is how the audio sounds most of the time.
