    Re: NES/SNES Gaming Thread

Still got mine as well. In fact with me getting a new laptop and finally storing all my older stuff to get some PC stuff out of attic I got everything pachaged away nicely.

    I have:
    Mario paint w/mouse and pad
Super Star Wars, Return of Jedi and mire Strikes Back
    All the metroids and zeldas
    Metal Gear Solid
Some track and field game (Not track and field though)
    Duck hunt w gun
    Ghost and Goblins
    SM Allstars
I think that's it besides some cleaning catridges etc..

Just so you know, if you just duck and hit the bosses they are extremlely quick and easy to beat. Or if you get the power up where you jump and hit with your sword, they can be taken down in one hit. I'm stuck on 6-2 on the game the last few months lol.

I've been thinking of making a thread like this for a while now, as I have finally found all of my old consoles and dug them out of my parents storage unit. Now on my living room TV I have connected...
      NES
      N64
      Gamecube
      Genesis
      Dreamcast
      Ps1, PS2
      Xbox360

Since I eventually ran out of outlets and AV connections, so the SNES is in the bedroom. Over the last year or so I think the new-ness of this generation of consoles has worn off and I find myself playing old systems more than my 360. I have way more games for any of those systems then I do for xbox anyways.

"Now let me tell you something!" Man i miss that show

Anyways Bill, I have a nice surge protector and AV splitter for all my systems, and I always have the surge switch off when I'm not gaming. Don't worry, Wanda helped me out.

Got the NES itch again so I went back to JNes and started up a new Tecmo Super Bowl season and started in on Mega Man 2.

Fixin to start Double Dragon II and go through the 3 Castlevania games in order.

            NES is still incredible.

Loved Mario RPG. Easy yet addictive RPG. Only have it on ZSNES right now, but I need to play that again.

                  Re: NES/SNES Gaming Thread

Haven't played NES in years. My favorite games were Super Mario Brothers 3 and Tecmo Bowl. I believe it is currently at my sisters house, though I don't know if they (sister, brother-in-law, nephew) still play it.

One time when some of my relatives were visiting from NC my mom had pulled out the NES so my cousin, who couln't have been older than 4 or 5 at the time, could play. I remember he surprised everyone when he started playing Super Mario Brothers and was doing really well at it.

I also remember a somewhat crude football game where the field went left to right and the players were large and blocky with a purple team and a yellow team. I used to imagine it was the Packers (more yellow than Steelers) vs. Vikings when playing it. I still remember one time when I was in 6th grade and was playing my cousin (not the same one as in the above paragraph) at that game. I was winning and my cousin was trying to mount one last drive to beat me when my dad brought our puppy upstairs to give in a bath in the tub. While he was getting ready in the bathroom, Thor (the puppy) came into the room where my cousin and I were playing and proceded to start licking my cousins controller preventing him from getting a last play off and helping me win the game.

Baseball Stars and RBI Baseball 2 are my two favorite NES baseball games, but I guess the rest of the competition is pretty far behind so it's not saying much lol.

I forgot how hard some of these games where - Castlevania, Zelda, Ninja Gaiden, Robo Warrior, TMNT - they didn't mess around with these games back then; no wonder Nintendo Power was a necessity in any household with an NES.

Anyway - why not some classic console talk? I'm sure we've got some guys here to still play these. Genesis is welcome too - although, I never really played it.
I can't believe that we had the patience to conquer the difficulty in those NES games. I remember playing the same 5 minute sequence for hours on end, failing, and then doing it again the next day lol.

There's a bunch of NES games that are ridiculously difficult...many I still haven't beat to this day, it's why I love to play them.

I still play Tecmo Super Bowl. I'm currently trying to take New England to the Super Bowl.

I'll play some Bass Loaded from time to time; Paste and Bay, ftw!

Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy gave me fits, but I love those games. Funny that after the SNES, I stopped playing both series, aside from the portable options.
