I've got my SNES and NES, still, but most of the time it's easier to play with the emulatorsComment

Re: NES/SNES Gaming Thread
How could I forget this one! Tetris was my Game Boy crack, but this filled that role on the NES:

Re: NES/SNES Gaming Thread
Nintendo Power put out a guide a little after the game came out where you could make some pretty cool animations. I never got around to buying it, but wish I would have.Comment

Re: NES/SNES Gaming Thread
I just got into Dragon Warrior for the first time this weekend. My friend used to play it but that was before i knew how awesome RPGs are. So far I'm loving it.

Re: NES/SNES Gaming Thread
For those of you that still have your NES if your games blink there's a reason for it.
The pin connectors are defective. You can get gold pin connectors online and cartridge cleaners so you will never have the blinking problem again. Apparently if you buy a connector and don't clean the games it breaks the connector.
I fixed my connector and cleaned all my games and my NES works just like it did out of box 23 years ago.Green Bay Packers

Also, most problems can be solved by cleaning the cartridge. I use rubbing alcohol and q-tips.Comment

Re: NES/SNES Gaming Thread
Also, if you don't want to buy a 72 pin connector, you can open your system and use Brasso and a toothbrush and clean them and bend them back into place. There's tutorials on YT for it. I've done this once and it worked fine, took me about 2 hours.

But if you just clean the cartridge the second you put it to the old connector it basically cancels out the cleaning. The gold 72 pin connector comes from a Nintendo repair retailer and they're pretty cheap so if you're a collector it's the best way to go.
I used to do the alcohol cleaning too, it doesn't always work. The way the retailer cleans the disk is unscrewing them and using this green liquid cleaner and getting all around inside the cartridge, there's YT videos for it too.Green Bay Packers

Also - for those talking about cleaning - erasers work great, too. I unscrew my games and erase the crap out of the pins. It does a really good job.Comment

Only things left (I need another lockable tote) are my Gamecube system and games and my Dreamcast. they are packed awaint trip to attic.
1 more thing.. does anyone else have no desire to keep the 360 or even PS3 long term? For me I just don't have that desire. I could never part with the NES/SNES/Intellivision or Dreamcast stuff.. Maybe it's just they have my "Fond" memories for me. I don't know.Joshua:

Re: NES/SNES Gaming Thread
When I packed away all my old systems/games a few weeks ago I found I still had the cartidge and system cleaner. I really would love to play these again but it will have to wait until I retire etc...

I still have a PS2 and have been trying to buy up a bunch of games for that system, as it looks like GameStop will stop selling them fairly soon.Currently Playing:

Actually, I could sell all my 360 stuff today and have little regret, but when my mom gave my old stuff away years ago, I've regretted every day since.Comment
