Yeah, but technology wise, we are just not there yet. Would not be enough of a leap.

Most big developers expect 2013 the soonest with 2012 for announcements, that way it gives the graphics and memory tech that extra time needed to mature. Which it will be with that time allotted.

I am going with the whole "network" thing for this video. Since they are changing the name from Qriocity to PlayStation Entertainment Network officially as their backbone.

Yeah, I have heard from various sources that we are going to get avatars much like XBL. I know a lot of people with a new network would want cross game chat, but it's impossible on the PS3 system. Hopefully a new theme style and network name can save their network rep. I am pulling for Sony to release something sweet here, not just some PlayStation Home thing, that I won't ever care about.

Honestly, "cross-game chat" is just a "grasping at straws" argument at this point.

Since it is the last thing keeping the two networks from being essentially the same.

Every game has in game chat for online, and most who game, and talk, do it within the same game.

Cross-game, been there done that on my PC for decades... not really a OMG I NEED it feature... it is a vocal minority thing quite honestly. (as in it doesnt make or break the two systems as far as argument's sake)

But it could be possible, Sony execs have said a lot of things that flipped flopped over the years. And the system itself is more than capable... I think he was just blowing smoke. Unless MSFT owns a patent on a certain low resource codec, thus it handcuffs Sony at this time for developing something the same.

I personally hope there is no "Mii" type avatar... I still to this day have never created one on the 360. I always have bypassed it. And also people are not "flocking" cause of those "avatars"... they are rarely talked about. Also this video gave no indication of that... at least no metaphor to it. Though a whole "network" vibe it did.

Maybe they are gonna launch a whole new store with EVERY Playstation past and present title (first/second party) on it?

The red lights in the video might represent the classic titles, which come in red cases with red on the front and back. The reason sweet tooth's van was outside is because it isn't a greatest hits title yet. Just another theory.

HAHAHA that sounds like something I would download Home for, do for a day, sit there and look at my trophies and then delete the cache a day later. I tried PlayStation home and walked around confused as hell what to do haha

It is a very good social tool for those who like that aspect. And has a Second Life/Sims/MMO feel to it, but I barely use it, unless there is something cool I want to check out.

But I am with you on that, I will just set up the room, then not care...

But boy would it be a nerdgasm to set up!

The main reason I would want it is that it was suppose to capture the gameplay when you actually received that trophy.

Imagine winning the World Series in a game 7 and when you click on that trophy it replays the 9th inning for you. That would be great. Realistically, I see that feature hitting in next gen though.
