The game doesn't look horrible. I'd rent it.

Re: Jurassic Park The Game
I played 2 demo levels of this at PAX west back in August. No movement, no choices. It was 100% quick time events. Missing one didn't give any new/different options, it was automatic death. Don't know if the entire game is like this or that was just what they had available to play at the time, but it wasn't much fun.Comment

Re: Jurassic Park The Game
Just fired it up about 15 minutes ago. So far, it's simply an interactive movie... a game full of QTE's, kind of like Heavy Rain, only without really any human control (that is, you don't walk around and look for things per se).
It's kind of cool, but definitely a cheap production so far. The audio codec is poor (there are several audio pops, specifically in the dialogue), the buttons are hard to read sometimes (I'm on a 59" screen, and can sometimes barely tell when something is a Triangle, or the left-analog stick, etc), and the script feels like a once-over kind of deal, even though it's already a bit clever with how it ties in with the first JP.
It's still kind of interesting, though. It's a nice break from the intense gaming I've endured the past few weeks, even though I have a feeling some raptors will eventually scare the **** out of me as this game progresses. I feel like the pacing through these four episodes won't be that bad in general, but I wonder if all of them are entirely QTE's, or they all kind of do their own thing.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I loved the back to the future game and this seem way better with the QTE which I'm a fan of.
Just can't justify the current price, I usually rent games like these. (low replay value)Last edited by Jukeman; 11-17-2011, 05:41 PM.Comment

Re: Jurassic Park The Game
In a way, I'm really glad that it is. The last thing I would've wanted was some action-adventure game where you basically just shoot up a lot of dinosaurs. This is the absolutely closest way they could relate this to the movies without actually being a movie itself.
I'll play for another half hour or so tonight, or at least finish Episode 1 and see where we go from there.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Jurassic Park The Game
Well, I just finished the first episode. I must say, I'm very impressed with this game! I already can't wait to go through the entire thing again when I'm finished, just so I can get the other trophies (I recommend not looking at the list until you've finished each episode, that way you don't spoil anything for yourself and you don't go out of the way to do certain things that you normally wouldn't).
The first episode finishes on a cliffhanger, which confirms that all episodes are a part of the same story. In fact, the game rummages through its own "credits" at the end for the entire game (all episodes), and afterwards there is another short scene that you should stick around for before exiting out, to understand what the next episode might be. I'm already excited! However, I'll play it later. It's much scarier to play at night.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

About to start the 3rd episode. The 1st one was much better than the 2nd one. This game is alright. Honestly the game wasn't done very well. I've noticed a few mistakes but it did make me want to buy the Jurassic Park Trilogy on blu ray.

Re: Jurassic Park The Game
So far, just through the first episode, it seems as if they write around the story of the original. In other words, unlike other games that seem to change up the story for the sake of the game, this one merely just "adds onto it" instead. Kind of like The Lion King 1 1/2 I guess.
I'll probably start diving into the second episode tomorrow.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

So far so good. Game is kind of addicting. I've been wanting to go to bed for a while now but I just can't. So far it's worth the 23$.Comment
