Biggest Disappointment of This Year?

What are your biggest disappointments this year in gaming (other than sports games)?

For me, it's probably LA Noire. Had a lot of hope for it, but the investigation structure was repetitive, the world was empty, and the narrative died about 3/4th of the way in.

Brink, Brink and.....Brink.

The freedom of movement was a joke. The level designs didnt give enough paths for the different body types to be worth anything. The servers were horrid and there werent enough differences between the weapons.

Homefront by far. I felt scammed after my purchase.

Since it affects my gaming, my biggest disappointment is my tv being out of commission for the first three days of Arkham City madness.

And I also vote L.A. Noire. They marketed it as a open world game with lots to do...beat the story, found all the film reels, landmarks, and secret cars within a week.

Battlefield 3 Beta...Hopefully the full game will iron out the problems but i doubt it...The gameplay is just too stale for my liking

I know most will say "its tactical" but IMO thats just sounds better than Camping.

Gameplay from what i experienced played out NOTHING like the videos.

Like i said that could change in the full game we will see but i've decided to not get it on release date

This "camping" is primarily because people are defending the objective. There are other modes in BF3 that are not objective based (TDM). But, I see just as much camping in other games.

I saw people PLENTY of times no where near the "objective" or anywhere related to the objective "Camping".

And like i said in another thread there are like zero gunfights in this game ..

Gears of War 3.

Great game on many fronts. No doubt top 5 of the year but to me it was disappointing on the story front and the ending. And that to me makes it one of the biggest disappointments of the year.

I am going to put another vote in for Brink. Looked like potentially a great MP game before release, but I stopped playing it 2-3 weeks after it was released.

I honestly can't think of any other non-sports game that has disappointed me this year. Every other non-sports I have played has either met or exceeded my expectations.

LA Noire. It wasn't a bad game at all, but the investigating was too easy and shallow, the story went a bit awry and it wasn't quite as "noir" as I had hoped.

I liked the game, but so much wasted potential. Cole was a decent front man, but certain plot developments made no sense and the latter half of the game felt rushed.

I know this is a non-sports gaming thread but for me, it would have to be NCAA 12. This game in past years has been my life for several months, but this year, I have no desire to even load it into my XBox
