When i turn on my ps2 game doesnt load straight up.Goes to that screen that says browser and configuration.Try to start the game from the little memory card icon where it says reading disc,and after 10 seconds or so says disc read error.Last time this happened i kept turning the ps2 on and off.Put the game back in and out and it finally worked when it was reading the disc from the icon.Now same thing happens but it keeps sayin disc read error anyone know any possible solutions or advice on what i can do??

I have the same problem, I'm pretty sure alot of the older PS2 has this problem.
I know alot of people blame it on Blockbuster games cuz of that little sticker they put on it, I don't know if it's true, but I believe it since after my brother rented a few games, it started acting up.
At any rate, I just keep hitting reset over and over until it works. Normally I think ahead, if I'm doing something and figure I'll be playing soon, I turn it on and continue doing whatever I'm doing, and just walk in and hit reset every few minutes. That's actually what I'm doing right now, lol(been waiting about 30 minutes now, lol).
Someone I know says if you use a DVD Cleaner that it fixed the problem. I haven't tried it cuz I'm cheap, but it maybe worth a try.
With Sony supposedly dropping the prices on PS2 this November, I'm just going to probably wait it out and buy a whole new PS2 then.Co-Commish of the OS Vets I & II

this happened to me and I called there toll free line and complained up a storm. Sony America replaced the system with a refurbished one and a new 90 day warranty and all i had to pay was 20 bucks for Shipping and HandlingComment
