I'm 100% in agreement with the OP as well. Played as much MW3 over the last month as the frustration would allow. The maps, in a word, are awful. There is zero versatility to them. All a bunch of tight corridors. The very few maps that are any different (Lockdown, Downturn etc.) never get voted to be played because you can't run 'n gun as easily on those.
Black Ops maps, IMO, are the best of any COD game. Yeah, Nuketown gets voted in alot but the most you'll play it is twice in a row. No biggie. The rest of the maps are a huge treat, with all the snow maps being the standouts (Array and Grid are probably the single greatest maps in a COD game ever for variety in style of play). The best part about Black Ops though is that Treyarch took some chances with the formula, with the leveling up, customization and game modes. This is no cookie-cutter COD.
Just last night, I traded in my MW3 for an MS points card (and subsidized my Saints Row 3 purchase) to buy up all the Black Ops DLC maps. To me this is like a brand new game again, as I often trade in my COD games after a few months so I hadn't actually played Black Ops since February(!) lol. I'm back in and not looking back.
