Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
BUT, with gamestops 50% bonus trade I can pretty much get what i paid for MLb and grab LoU. The hard part was justifying getting rid of MLB, and quality multiplayer is the justification.
Looking forward to every aspect of this game for the 1st timeLast edited by Gerg04; 07-27-2014, 10:18 AM.Comment

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
On the subject of difficulties, how many are there and what do you guys feel the best one would be to start on for someone who hasn't played the game before?
Probably going to go right up to release day finding out whether or not I can get that Gamestop deal, but whether it's on PS3 or PS4, I WILL be playing this for the first time on Tuesday.
Each time you move up a difficulty level, your access to health packs and resources diminish. The listen in HUD, where you can see the enemies outline through walls is eliminated in survival and grounded. In Survival you're dead if shot at 2xs. Grounded is insane and maybe more frustrating than anything. I suggest reading this http://www.twinfinite.net/2014/05/13...he-last-of-us/ piece which was put together to master your survival in grounded. If you use these in the lower difficulties, you should be good to go. I think you can turn off the HUD on and off but I'm not sure. Staying stealth is the key. And if you have to run, RUN! You don't need to be a hero all the time.
Remember, this game is a long one (17+ hours) so don't frustrate yourself. Play it out and let the story unfold. The game is a masterpiece in story telling and immersion.Comment

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
Gonna be awesome to play Left Behind first and then the proper game...didn't play the DLC the first time around so I'm ready.
Also might dabble in MP this time around too....Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

There's a point in the main game where you should stop playing and switch to play Left Behind, then come back to the main game. IMO its the best way to play it.
Since you played it already the spot is in spoilersSpoilerWhen Joel falls off the Horse bleeding out after the university and it switches control to Ellie in Winter

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
I don't know why but I'd really like to play through this game with infinite ammo. lol. I think the game is perfect how it is.. but I just wish if you beat it on survivor or something it would unlock unlimited ammo. It would make for such a different playthrough. Regardless, I'm SO PUMPED to own this on PS4.PSN: jaydazzle

Keep in mind, I really take my time in games like this. For instance, I usually walk instead of run unless it would realistically make more sense to haul ***.
I personally think you'd want to feel somewhat badass as Joel. He's survived and done some shady **** and I'd feel like there's no reason to want to have to continually die as you grow accustomed to the mechanics from a narrative perspective.
On Normal during my first playthrough, I died a lot anyway!
Once I finished it up, I finished it again on Hard and Hard plus too. Definitely a blast. But I regret nothing enjoying the story and steep learning curve during my first crack. With a story this good, it's stupid to me to loose that momentum as a TLOU virgin.
Either way, enjoy! Greatest game of all-time.Comment

SpoilerYou fight that one big baddie for a long time, then you're in the school bus lot, then you go through a few houses before you encounter a dude who's like impaled through a pole or something, I can't remember. Maybe he killed himself, actually. Was his name Frank? Apparently it was Joel's buddy or something. It was so long ago, I really can't remember. Anyway, I think they take his truck, or at least want to do so. That's the last thing I've played.

Blzer you have a ways to go. Its closer to the end of the game than the beginning. 70 maybe 80ish percent. Im not sure how I could give a hint without spoiling things

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
No problem man, thanks for the heads up. Glad to hear (and realize) how much of the game I have left to go.
I'm going to push toward getting a PS4 today, so I might be playing this again on Tuesday. Any word on if we can transfer our progress from the PS3 to PS4 version? Regardless, I'll probably end up restarting it anyway, but I am just curious.
I really took my time playing what I had played thus far. I played like seven hours to get through that 30%.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
Is the gamestop deal legit or no? Can't wait to play this on PS4. I was on my third playthrough on PS3 but put it down to wait on PS4.
Winter was one of the best scenes I've ever seen. Film or game. The scene everyone aws at (the one the video already spoiled) was cool, but Winter... Damn!5Comment

I know I'll be in the minority on this, but if I were you I'd start out on Normal. That's what I did and it took me 21 hours to get through the game the first time.
