Im with you on this. I own both systems, but the PS3 I have mainly for MLB the show and the Uncharted series.

Now The Last of Us will be the first PS3 game that I will preorder, and be very excited to get.

Same, I first got my PS3 for that Final Fantasy 7 remake sony lied about........Since then I played Valkyria Chronicles and got The Show for my Brother. I played Resistance and the Uncharted Series but none of then really got me excited to own a PS3. Main reason I still have it now is because of the Blueray Player.

Like I said above this game im very excited about.

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)

If they were really ambitious enough, this is the kinda game where they can try to hit you with moral dilemmas. A little like that other post-apocalyptia game. I forget the title, but you can hold a gun on people and they put their hands up in fear and stuff.

Anyway. Imagine after fighting through numerous groups of scavenging bandits who attack you on site, you come across a similarly dressed and presented group but you got the drop on 'em and Ellie suggests you take 'em out silently. You do...the game plays out the way you expect...

But on another playthrough, maybe on YouTube, you see someone who approaches these people unarmed and out in the open. The men don't even attack you. This group won't attack you at all...so long as you don't attack them first. Maybe have one of the guys argue his buddies down from jumping them and he's the very first person you're in a position to take out while stealthing it up.

Really be a kinda player punching "you bastard" moment to realize that you aren't always the hero, sometimes you're the antagonist mercilessly attacking decent people in a bad spot like you are.

^Have you ever played Heavy Rain? If not, you would probably like it a lot, since it is multi-situational just like that.

I have and I did enoy the many ways a situation could play. I didnt like the writing and QTEs.

This game is much more organic and a situation like that could be skipped over for an intense fire fight if you treat all other NPCs as hostile.

I loved Heavy Rain but it's like a choose your own adventure book. It's still very linear with some branching choices.

I think a game that has more than choice and instead presents differing reactions to situations is more of what we want in gaming. Don't tell me that a or b can happen. Tell me that the AI will react as a human would: unpredictable.

I'm not 100% sure that The Last of Us will break the linear aspect.

I don't know how the game flow will be, but even with these different options they still have you going from point A to point B...Not knocking it, and I love being able to do things in different ways. It's just tough to tell a real story if you don't have a plan.

It'd be really cool if a dev created a game that could have drastically different directions/endings, but we're a bit away from that I think (that's a future level game).

I'm very intrigued by the game though, must play for me!

Definitely won't break the linear aspect, in the last youtube interview posted the dev said he would describe the game as wide linear, meaning you have to get from point A to point B but there are numerous ways to go about doing so.

I really like how when the player takes a shot it knocks him back a little. They've really added an entire new level of gritty realism to this game.

That's cool...I hope it's more true "wide" and not the type where they give you 3 ways max to do something and say it's tons...

I don't like shooting games. The only shooting games I have ever owned are Grand Theft Auto games, and that is more for doing stupid stuff like crashing into buildings and watch my guy's body go flipping down the road.

The Last of Us WILL be the first shooting game I have ever bought. This game looks absolutely incredible!!!
