This game will automatically get at least a 9 from the big game sites like ign because it's made by Naughty Dog and they probably paid them off. Not to say it's not going to be deserving of a good score but that's just how it is, some game studios can do no wrong.

It's completely linear (dynamic events, I suppose). Therein lies the problem. This game has set up when the "zombies" will appear and attack you, which means it has also set up your walking around moments of nothingness.

If it was an open world where they are just spawned all over in random spots (or at least random parts of the map), then it would be a truly unique experience.

My thoughts EXACTLY...this is what I look for in games now these days...all next-gen games should be "Open-World" . (i.e., Skyrim, etc)

This will now be a "Gamefly" kind of game for me... bummer-city.

A $20 Season Pass for The Last of Us will give players access to an additional single player story in addition to two multiplayer packs. Maps and "other expansions" will arrive after The Last of Us launches on June 14.

yeah they havent really said anything about the multiplayer other than saying they will have one. they didnt even tell us or give us any idea they was having one when i was there.

Looking forward to play this game. Gameplay looks pretty cool and it seems like its not gonne be to easy with the one bite kills infected. Really like what im seeing.
Only one thing i wish it wouldve been a more open world kind of game. Now its probebly gonne be a dust catcher after the first playthrough.

Well, this game will follow chapters, checkpoints, and sequences. Everybody will witness the same things in the same order, etc.

The variances in this game will be concerning how you approach enemies and such. Going in without a weapon will be different than going in Rambo style.

This is of course in my limited knowledge of this game. I've done my best to avoid reading any articles on it, so this is from what I heard last year.

yeah everything Blzer said is on point. the real Variances and fun comes from when your fighting actual regular bad guys and/or Military guys not the Infected/zombie people. they attack you in different ways depending on what you do.

for example, there was this one area where a bunch of Military guys jump over this wall and start coming after you shooting and stuff. so at first i chose to stay behind this one piece of cover and shoot them down 1 by 1.
i killed about 4 or 5 guys and im feeling good. then one of guys yelled,

"he's a sitting duck, Flank his ***!"

so now the guys spread out to my left and right. im like "awww ****!" a minute later i die from a bullet to the back of the head.

so i decide to try the same thing again. this time i hear,

"someone get that m********er!"

next thing you know, im getting grenades thrown at me on top of them flanking me. i die 3 straight times.

ok, so now i know i need to do something different. i HAVE to move around. so i decide im gonna get aggressive. so now i start moving from cover to cover after every couple kills. i even sneak up behind a couple and kill them with a weapon (it was either a stick or a pipe, i cant remember). so now im getting the best of them. there almost all dead except for one guy. well, he has plans for me as i hear him say,

"its not over you son of a bitch!"

and as i look 6-7 more guys jump over the wall. one of them even has a RPG/grenade launcher (i cant remember which one it exactly was). so they start to flank me. i go into my knapsack and create a med-kit to replenish my health and create a bomb. i stayed behind one piece of cover and eventually i killed them all with my gun. "Finally!" i say to myself. so i start to look around on where to go next. then i hear,

"Gotcha Bitch!"

im hit in the back of the head with a pipe. im dead. apparently i didnt kill all of them. one of them got behind me and hid when i was messing with my knapsack. i thought that was really cool and easily some of the smartest A.I. enemies i ever faced in a game.

i even yelled out a loud OH **** when i heard the guy behind me. i even talked with the other testers that was there with me who played through that area and none of them had that happen to them.
