Ive been very interested in this game, I know its not a zombie game which is good cause there has not been a good zombie game for well, ever. I look at it more like a 28 days later with mutations but i might be wrong, anyway is it worth a buy even better if i get it used do i need a code to do certain things. I just dont trust games that dont have a demo been burned alot of times, thanks.

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
Ugh. I hate feeling like such a badass, sneaking past badguys and what not, only to not have a clue where I'm supposed to go. Or finding an exit that is to slow or loud and knowing I have to go back and clear the room out.
Not to mention that there's always so many crucial supplies scattered around that you just don't notice when you're holding R2 down like your life depends on it. Cuz it friggin' does.Comment

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
whats wrong with you guys lol. that part was got to me too but i wasnt no where near tears.
let me guess
your in a place that looks like a old store next to some Lockers and its full of Clickers and a Runner thats eating a dead body?
i died on that part about about eleven times in a row as well. lolSpoilerbum rushed the first clicker, killed it but was immediately surrounded. Second time, I peeked around the corner at the runner and suddenly I hear gunfire and neck munch, not sure how I was seen. Third time I cleared the place silently. I died more in the office building before with the one clicker and a bunch of runners (one would see me and the clicker would come chomp my neck). Felt awesome at the end, throwing a bottle then shiving the last clicker in the neck.
Now that I'm getting a bit more used to it, sneaking works pretty well.
I couldn't disagree with this sentiment more.Comment

can someone provide some help in this area
SpoilerRight after the elevator falls and you're separated from Ellie...how do I get out? I've gotten to the part where I've swam through a couple levels and fought off some infected people, I found the hotel key card but now I don't know where to go.Comment

Re: The Last of Us (PS3)
Heroes said a couple pages page that this game is helping him relearn videogames, I couldn't agree more. I've really gotten the most out of this game when I immerse myself in the game fully, and just try to survive. Yeah I've died a ton and at times it is frustrating, but each time I realized it was a poor decision on my part. For example, Traveling with bill
SpoilerThat trip when you leave Bill's hideout and make your way to the school presents so many different options and strategies. I rememeber I passed up going into that first house on the hill which was off the main path because I didn't need any supplies. If I needed the supplies, I probably would have tried to get past those clickers and runnners to get those supplies.
There are more subtle decisions like this throughout the game, in general do I try to save shivs or should I take out a couple clickers strategically to open up an easier avenue of escape. Especially when traveling with more than one follower, I often try to take out some baddies because I can't always trust the ai to follow me without disturbing a clicker.
Also another example of why this game is amazing and replayable:
SpoilerWhen you crash your truck and have to face the hunters, that can be a diffiicult challenge considering if you used a lot of ammo to get through the school and truck scene prior to that. Anyway, nothing more satisfying than vaulting through a window in back of a baddie and then strangling him. Flanking works in this game and must be used at times.
I love the fact that gunplay seems heavy and clunky at times, basically it feels human and realistic. Joel is a guy who uses a gun to survive, he isn't a professional. Heck guns aren't even that important in the game, the professionals (military) have been overrun. You have to survive with your brain and using all possible methods. The combat is also very visceral and engaging. The melee is very deep. Upgrade that melee weapon, well the first hit will be an instant kill so use it on the most dangerous enemy. All you have is your fists, hit quick and back away, hit again. So many strategies to use....Comment
