    Binary Domain

Game demo is out now on XboxLive.

Part Vanquish - Part Metal Gear Solid 4 and part Gears of War 3.

Game plays well and only has two bad factors.

    1)No crouching
    2)Running animation looks sketch.

Other than that a very surprising and clean thought out shooter.

SEGA should publish more titles like this one here. I know Vanquish was Platinum Games and I can't recall who is releasing this game, but maybe they need to stick with titles like this and make them into franchises since the gameplay is solid.

Little Mass Effect blended in too.

Looks like a solid title, will follow up on it and continue playing to make my final call on it.

This demo is very solid, kind of stinks that this game releases 2/28 since it would be day 1 buy for me. But with the Vita coming out next week and then the Show on 3/6, this game is out at a bad time for me. I'll either rent it or buy it later on since it looks to have a lot of potential.

I checked out the demo and was pleasantly surprised. The game is much better than I thought it was gonna be. It is made by the developers of the Yakuza series which I really enjoy, so I am thinking about picking this one up.

Day 1 for sure, pretty neat the developers made good use of the mic for single player. If only it would recognize what I'm actually saying instead of some random mess I never mentioned half the time. I see that being fixed, also gave us the tools to do so in the mean time.

Recognizable Threshold and Nose Setting slider & test.

Running does look sketchy, controls could be tightened up.

Other then that, i'm still enjoying the game.

Comes out at a good time for me too, being that's my birthday week.

The animations for getting into and out of cover are great. I'll def snag this down the road.

Finally tried this demo this morning. I will pick this up one day, but likely when it's used. Some really neat aspects to it for sure (mic use, picking your squad) but I can't help but think this is just a Japanese translation of the Gears of War universe. Don't get me wrong, still fun and I like the iRobot-ish storyline sprinkled in but with everything that's coming out right now, I just can't justify buying this new.

Me too IGN rated it a 7.5 Deserves much higher IMHO from everything i've seen.

10 hrs of campaign gameplay at 60 is worth it though If it was a full fledged 15 to 20 My goodness yes

It's amazing how brazen they are with their theft from Gears of War. I expected the cover and archetypes but they didn't even try to make the weapon select screen look different.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

When I reloaded my gun I seriously looked towards to upper right of the screen waiting for an active reload to pop up.

Oh man so was I lol

I caught myself a few times doing that. Cool i'm not alone.

The demo was very enjoyable, and the fact that 10 players can do co-op play on it, has me very close to buying this on day 1.

From the demo the gameplay is decent but the voice acting is horrifically terrible.

Went with a different squad. Voice acting improved. How much the main guy looks like Dan Henderson (plus his name being Dan) and Bo looks like Ving Rhames is distracting. Also the demo made it seem like the British guy was an ******* but it turns out Dan is instead,if you take the Brit on your team he'll be giving the orders instead of you. Has potential to go intresting places, hope it doesn't turn out cliche.

                              - Mostly bad voice acting.

                              - Some really bad boss battles.

                              - Relationships don't affect much.

                              - During the later parts of the game you don't get much choice in your team so they're possibly not as well equipped, plus you can be stuck with people you don't like.

-/? In relation to the last one I feel like something might've been cut to be DLC later.

                              - Some scripting problems, not as in problems with the game script,I mean game scripting. If you take the cover spot your teammate AI is going for,say in an open doorway, they'll stand next to you even if they can't shoot and there's no one on the other side. They frequently walk into your line of fire even while you're firing. I got stuck in the car chase level, you're the gunner and the car got stuck on another car so I had to do that again. It didn't come off as a glitch as such,it wasn't warping through the ground or anything. Couldn't take a shield through a certian door. Stuff like that.

                              - Subtitles being off turns them entirely off so when there's talking in Japanese there's no subtitles for it.

                              - I really think they could've done more with the story especially towards the end but...

+++ ...it's still a pretty damn good story. Especially when compared to other videogame stories.

                              + Some good voice acting.

+ Suprisingly good gameplay variety. Much more than just a corridor shooter.

+ Some really cool boss battles.

+ Despite relationships not affecting much there are multiple endings. Not a lot changes though, the overall ending will still be the same.

+ Zombie robots. Don't ask how, just know they exist.

+ For what I think is the first time ever, blindfire is actually useful.

+ It's a little thing but Dan's facial hair actually grows throughout the game. That was a neat detail.

? They give you a grappling hook in the tutorial to use once. You NEVER use it again.

? I don't think you can get the romance scene the first time through,at least not without an easily missable item.

Overall it's like Mission Impossible crossed with Blade Runner (it in fact has a very specific Blade Runner reference) with some Sucker Punch (action wise). So if you like one of those it's worth playing,if you like all 3 stop reading this and go get it right now. If you've never heard of/seen those give it a shot anyway if you like shooters.

I'd say it was about 8 hours. I did kill a bunch of the zombie robots for an easy achievement so maybe less but a second playthrough might be worth it. That said, had I known the guys that made Yakuza made this I wouldn't have been as suprised and probably bought it instead of just renting.

                              Spoiling the Blade Runner thing...
