Okay, I created a region called Springfield (Simpsons FTW) on NA East 4 and made it public. Region filtering is still disabled, so random people won't be finding it, and this saves the trouble of OSers having to be invited.

Rather than having a billion OSville's with lots of open/abandoned cities, I'm hoping we can get the Osers who are still playing regularly into one city, and this seems like a good place to start. I chose a different name than OSville to avoid confusion since there are at least 4 of those already.

I also think now that we've all gotten the hang of how to play there will less chance of people ruining their city and abandoning it, and we might even be able to get some "great works" projects going. It's tough to get a good multi-player experience in this game when your neighbors abandon their cities and aren't replaced, so hopefully we can avoid this.

And if people don't want to join this region, I still think we need to combine those who play regularly into one region.

all of the NA servers are full for me(and most of the Europe ones as well), so I can't get into any of them.

Same here...the stuttering problems on the Show have pretty much disappeared for me, so I've been playing a ton of that. Will jump back into Simcity for this traffic patch.

I claimed a city in your region too rsnomar - I plan on calling it Shelbyville.

Yeah, you're fine. It's the people who actually hit the "abandon" button on their cities. The problem is, when a new player wants to reclaim the abandoned city, they don't get a reset. Instead, they have to continue playing the abandoned city as it was left. So if someone is losing 14K a month and bails, the new mayor has to assume and somehow overcome that 14k a month loss.

Yeah, I saw that, and that's an awesome name. Hopefully more people will join and we can actually get a serious region going. I picked the same city as I did in OSville because I want to try and see how well I can do now that I actually am experienced at the game and have learned what pratfalls to avoid.

Also, it sucks that there's an abandoned city in our cluster of 4 in OSville, especially since that city is in need of a major cash influx and will likely stay abandoned.

Downloading now. Once I get this running, what do I need to do to get into an OSville? Should I do a test city or something first? Tutorial?

I have no problem getting on NA East 4, but apparently new players (those who don't have at least one city on the server) are blocked from accessing it. If there aren't enough people with NA East 4 access to get a serious region going, we might have to switch servers.

It's invite only. You have to friend Millennium. And just note that all cities in OSville have been claimed, but 4 were abandoned, so you'd have to pick up where they left off.

Alright, we have 3 people in Springfield so far out of a possible 16. It's public, so no need for an invite, but if you can't find it, friend me and then click on me in-game and it'll show up as a region I'm playing.

As I said earlier, if we can't get enough people in Springfield we can always switch servers, but I like the city I started and would prefer to stick with this one.

And a note on the two abandoned cities in Springfield: once I saw they had been abandoned, I reclaimed each city and played until I reached $50,000 (the amount you start out with when building a new city) and then bull-dozed everything. So the two abandoned cities are blank and for all intents and purposes reset. So do not shy away from claiming an abandoned city, as your experience will be no different from starting a new city. In fact, because I couldn't hit $50,000 exactly, each city has around $52,000, meaning you actually start with $2,000 more than usual. Bonus!
