Finally was able to play a bit last night and the game is awesome. I completed the tutorial on Realistic difficulty (middle option) and it was a blast. It was extremely challenging at times, especially landing but once you made a clean land it was well worth it. I can't wait to get into the campaign and check out more of this game.

Re: Birds of Prey (360/PS3)
I play simplified controls and I am really enjoying the game. I tried realistic but I kept crashing but will try it again in the future. I also like how you can watch and save replays after missions. Playing this game makes me miss WWII era first person shooters even more. What I like about the game is it isn't trying anything flashy, gimmicky or over the top just pure ariel combat flying with nice realistic effects.Comment

Re: Birds of Prey (360/PS3)
Yeah, I feel like once I get into the actual missions, the realistic might be a bit too much for me, so I'll end up switching to simplified. We shall see. And yeah I like the fact that it is just pure aerial flying combat. Planes feel great and I love the different views (cockpit, behind plane, gunner, and simulated cockpit)."If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment

Re: Birds of Prey (360/PS3)
I have experienced no lag whatsoever. Not a ton of people playing online, in versus you may see 5-8 rooms and none of them are full. Computer fills the room with bots though once the game starts if its not full of human players.Originally posted by ImTellinTimIf I lived in Waco, I would find you and kick you right in the nuts.Comment

Sorry I guess my "sim cockpit" is the same as the first person view...Comment

Re: Birds of Prey (360/PS3)
Just a heads up for people not sure about the game, there is a demo up on the PSN store & most likely on the 360 as well. I have a PS3 so I can't confirm it for the 360. Game Demos (free)
Birds Of Steel Demo
Grab the stick in Birds of Steel. The demo gives combatants a chance to sample the game by thrusting them into 3 of the most prolific battles from WWII. Lift off in the Grumman F4F and battle your way through Wake Island, pilot the nimble Japanese Zero in the attack on the Lexington or hold on in the Spitfire Mk. V through the Siege of Malta. Birds of Steel gives aerial enthusiasts the ability to pilot planes from all WWII combatants.

Re: Birds of Prey (360/PS3)
For those of you who have this game are all of the cockpits modeled for the planes? How many planes are playable? Hows the frame rate in big battles?
This games seems to be the Pacific version of Wings of Prey (which is good in my book) with some improvements so I hope the publisher supports this game unlike the the first one (for the 360 at least).Comment

Re: Birds of Prey (360/PS3)
This game is awesome! Its literally the only flight sim on consoles and the damage model is absolutely terrific (I just got a random dynamic failure due to inappropriate flaps extensions), trust me I have a PPL and used to be a hardcore flight simmer on the PC, this is basically heaven for me!

Re: Birds of Prey (360/PS3)
Thanks for the response, I happy that some decided to make a good "sim" style WWII flight game for the consoles. Now I hope I can find it at a store near me.Comment

Re: Birds of Prey (360/PS3)
Anyone else having trouble beating one of the missions in Historical Campaign, it's late in the campaign where you must bomb the Japanese carrier Hiryu (sp)?
You have a plane with a rear gunner and must first shoot several planes coming in from the rear. This part is fairly easy. My problem comes when I try to get near and bomb the carrier. My plane gets shredded from flak, etc. I've tried coming in from above, dive bombing it, I get shredded, tried coming in low, same results. I have been able to hit the carrier with a couple of bombs but that's about it.
Probably tried this mission a dozen times. Anyone beat this mission and if so, how?
Love this game by the way!Originally posted by ImTellinTimIf I lived in Waco, I would find you and kick you right in the nuts.Comment
