Interesting thread. Does anyone else other than me find it interesting that no one answered the original post question?

I just re-read the first post and there is about 10 questions in it. Which one are you talking about?

BTW I'm 33 and I had to google search "thumb stretches" last week because MLB the Show addiction was causing thumb pain for me. I found a video with warmup exercises that I do now! Haha

We're all too old to remember the original question.

            Re: Older gamers?

I'll be 40 next month, married with 4 boys and still get in about an hour or so a night. I actually went through a similar scenario the OP is going through. I think I was standing in line at a midnight release for GTA IV and looking over the "younger" customers, I began to feel silly about myself. But..I didn't get out of line!

I know what gaming is for me. In fact, the older generation knows where gaming started. That's not to say younger gamers don't, but some grew up with stand alone arcades and gaming consoles in pizza shops, where you put your quarter up because you had the next game. We've witnessed gaming evolve into what it is now and are just as opinionated and informed as the younger hardcore guys.

I don't see myself stopping because the love of gaming has been a part of me for so long that I thoroughly enjoy reading about and experiencing what's next.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

32 here. I have a gf of almost 4 years and no kids. We don't party or anything like that and she has her own hobbies, therefore the majority of my free time is spent watching TV or playind video games. I actually play more now than I did in my late teens and twenties because all my free time back then was spent chasing tail. It's a great hobby and I don't see myself ever giving it up.

I feel the same way you guys do though. I'll be gaming until my life reaches game over.

Same here. I'm 51 - been gaming since PONG in the 70s, and I'll keep gaming until the day I die. I'm not ashamed one bit - it's my hobby and I love it. And I read comic books too.

                    Re: Older gamers?

I'm happy to see all of these older gamers on here. It makes me feel like I have a "hobby" and not just a "waste of money," as my fiancee calls it! LOL

I am 36 and there is no way I'll ever stop gaming. I went through a scary period about a year ago where my left hand would spasm and jerk around without me having any control over it. It turns out it was a side effect of a med I was on (another sign of getting old! LOL), but I remember worrying that it was something permanent. As sad as it is, I was most worried that I wouldn't get able to play my games anymore. Now that's either devotion or pathetic!

38 myself. Although I'm wondering about when I'm older and how my reflexes/reaction time will be. Might make the shooters and sports games a bit of a challenge. I might be stuck playing the Apples to Apples videogame.

I am your age and I have come to the realization that while I have gamed for 30 some odd years, I am just not very good when I play against other people. I don't do well at FPS. I am not particularly good at sports games and I am horrific at real time strategy games. But I love me some gaming. I love rpg's, sports games, turn based strategy games, and first person shooters.

I mean, I just got MVP 2012 and I was using pulse pitching and I got 1 good release out of an entire game. I was going apes$#% last night trying to get a perfect release. I just can't figure out the damn timing. I walked 7 batters, gave up 3 homeruns and 11 runs. It was horrific.

Anyways, I don't care that I suck, I love playing games and will do it as long as I possibly can.

I got 13 years on you, and I do pretty well. Of course, the reflexes aren't the same, so I have to use strategy and trickery going against my young cousins in games like Mortal Kombat. They got me on hand speed, but I got them on knowing when or when not to do a move. Same thing applies to sports games.
