Games like LA Noire?

I liked this game this gen although it's not perfect and the interrogations can be a bit much, but good to see the adventure game coming back and some puzzle solving mixed with action. I played Alan Wake. I like these games more than GTA for whatever reason. I'm older and GTA is ok but eh. I play the show and sports games and that's about it. There aren't many games like thsi out there? I like Fallout and stuff but even skyrim is a bit much. IT's more an rpg. Even MAss EFfect is more sci fi rpg garbage. Sorry lol. They are cool games but a bit much.

I was thinking maybe deadly premonition? I hear its really graphically bad and just weird though. I Don't know what else is out there. Nothing? Uncharted? I played heavy rain btw. Not enough action. I like a good mix. It seems like games these days are either all action or puzzles or rpgs. There are very few in between.

Two games that have puzzle solving and action mixed are batman arkham city and assassins creed... Those are just off the top of my head

I might give assasins creed a go. That's one I haven't really played. I'm not big on platforming though. Infamous got kind of eh because of the amount of platforming. I like more slow paced games lol. LA Noire was right about my speed although could have a bit more action. Maybe make the puzzles and ways you can do things a bit more a bit more open. Fallout and Skyrim aren't bad they are pretty much what I'm talking about. But those games are freakin massive. I havent evne finished oblivion yet.

I liked the setting of LA Noire. The good guy cop aspect of it. Crime solving. Kind of fun. Deus Ex is kind of a futuristic game like that. It's not bad. I've also played the splinter cell games.

GTA is cool and all, but it basically involves driving to a location shooting someone repeat. The way they made it with the side activities, it's kind of boring.

I was thinking maybe Hitman or the Godfather. But they seem dated. I might try the new hitman game when it comes out.

It's an old game but have you played 'Heavy Rain' yet? From what I understand, you like crime-solving, puzzle, adventure type, etc like an LA Noire. Heavy Rain belongs to that genre. Maybe you'll like Resident Evil series too, a 6th installment is coming up. Assassin's Creed Collection is good also, and yeah Hitman series as well. There's more to choose from in this genre, classified as "Action-Adventure".

If you have a PS3, Heavy Rain absolutely needs to be your next game, especially if you liked LA Noire.

Oh, and Control-X, Heavy Rain came out Feb. 2010... I don't know if I'd classify that as "old" yet, lol.

Shenmue 2 for the Xbox is great. Only problem is most of the sites I see it for a high price relatively speaking. Still if you can find a good deal for it it's definitely worth picking up.

Deadly Premonition is a very strange game. You'll start playing it and swear it is the worst thing you've ever played, only to have it start to slowly grow on you minute by minute (or at least it did for me). The graphics and animations are subpar, as is the voice acting (it is pretty laughable). However, the overall package far outweighs the sum of its parts. You'll get caught up in the story and forget about everything else.

It isn't really too much like LA Noire per se (at least I don't think so) - it is more a suspense/horror game. It is cheap enough that I think you should give it a try. You won't lose much if you don't like it, but it is worth every penny if you let it suck you in.

Shenmue 1 and 2 will supposedly be released in HD on PSN and Xbox Live. I will be all OVER those if true.

Shenmue and Shenmue 2 are still my favorite games of all time. Very detailed and deep games. I have played through it twice. Mafia on the PC is also a great and deep story mode.

The Testament Of Sherlock Holmes fits here.
It a bit low budget, but nice for the puzzle elements.
