    HALO 2 Pushed back again

    </font><blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr />
Microsoft launched the Xbox with a game that they promised everyone would be talking about, Halo. To the new video game console company, it was a necessity to have a franchise character to have a market presence. Microsoft was right, as developer Bungie succeeded in making Halo one of the most talked about games of the new generation.

Obviously, with a game as big as Halo, there would be a sequel. The sequel, Halo 2, was announced some time ago and was originally scheduled to be released this Holiday season. Unfortunately for drooling gamers, Bungie and Microsoft opted to move the game to a Spring 2004 release date in order to polish the "bells and whistles".

Today it was discovered that Microsoft, via the Xbox web site, has changed the release date of Halo 2 to an indefinite date. No word from Microsoft or Bungie on why the release date was changed from spring 2004 to indefinite.

Damn, this game better make ppl lose jobs and relationships if they're delaying it this much.

Anyway, I'm probably the only person in the world that did'nt like HALO. I find no enjoyment in shooting aliens with fictional guns. Thats just me.

Make that two if us. I am not into science fiction and killing aliens.

Of course the game was the best console FPS ever (yes better the Goldeneye) as far as gameplay and control were concerned for me. Of course it still had it's problems, the main one being the repeating of level layouts. Also there were a couple levels where you basically went through the same room 10 straight times.

this is starting to remind me of Daikatana, the game made by John Romero (former ID and Doom/Quake guy) at Ion Storm. Kept getting delayed and delayed, by the time it came out it was so dated. A total of a year delay (I bet it won't come out till fall now) seems kinda alarming. I know they want to make it perfect, because that's what people expect, but if they keep delaying people expect more, and newer games come out.

the first Halo was in developement for the PC for a few years before it was even released on the XBox. Not a big suprise here.

Oh and lets not talk of Halo and Diakatana in the same thread. Bungie could crap in a DVD case and it would be better than that POS

not the best comparison, I know, but if there are any problems with Halo 2 at all then the hardcore fans are gonna flip, because all these delays better be worth something.
