    Skullgirls

    Anyone download this?

Beautiful fighting game...has gotten some really good reviews ...

The variety of the cast of characters reminds me of Blazblue/ GG

    Re: Skullgirls

I DLed the trial. One of the worst fighting games I ever played. Has a nice style/graphics but the gameplay...oh lawd the gameplay. Also asking $15 for a fighting game with 8 characters is absolutely ridiculous.

This review is the correct one: http://reviewsontherun.com/all/spotl...-video-review/ Cut the scores in half (a 4 and 6) and it's right on.

Those Reviews on the Run guys are tools. Talking about the story in a fighter? Really? Who cares? Every fighter has a sh*tty story.

And they're flat out wrong about the balance and control. Makes me wonder how many fighters they've played seriously. They're just way off base. When you look past the flashy graphics, balance and control are the game's strengths - and the balance is achieved by keeping the roster small. To be fair, I will say that the air-dashing feels a bit weird.

Then the fat guy's trashing the characters because they don't feel as familiar to him as Ken and Ryu, who have been around for 25 years. Come on.

Why are they even comparing it to full-priced releases like Street Fighter anyway? The game is $14.99, not $49.99. Of course it's gonna lack some of the modes that the big franchises have. Of course it's not going to have 35 characters.

I do agree on the lack of a movelist, though. That was an oversight for sure.

Also, 2D games with hand-drawn animations like Skullgirls are much more difficult and time-consuming to create.

That's why Capcom and pretty much every other fighting game developer except SNK exclusively use 3D characters and animations now.

For a game that was built from scratch by a 15-person development team, Skullgirls is a good effort.
